Looks like a cool set up. Im interested to see how this looks all done.

I still need to set up the air filter and new fan. That's the only big thing left to do. I also need to hang white plastic sheeting around the walls to make them more reflective. I think I can probably just staple that stuff to the drywall.

I got 4 LSD beans soaking in water today. Just gotta put them in wet paper towels and wait for them to sprout.

I just ordered some of that. Never tried it. 4 Plants in the closet...that filter will serve you well! I'm anxious for you! I know I would be dying to get things going.

Sounds Awesome. It sounds like and looks like you have maximized your space and organized things to fit perfectly. Cant wait to see this all done.

It's gonna be a tight squeeze when all the lights are raised up to the level of the Green Gator air filter. But I think I'll have just enough room.

I didn't know you were the Green Gator maker until I saw GreatBranch's post yesterday. I'm really looking forward to trying out one of your big filters! I bought one last winter during one of your sales. Heard great things about it from "The Dawg". Never had an air filter before. I guess my neighbors must have just lived with the smell during harvest time. I didn't realize it was so strong. But now with one of your filters I won't have to worry about it anymore.

Yeah, I really need to get on the stick, because we have a trip to DC planned for our anniversary this September. I want to give my plants a decent veg cycle this time, not like my last grow.

You ordered the plastic or the same seeds? If it's the LSD seeds, I think you'll be happy with them. Their flowering period is fairly short, I think around 65 days if I remember right. And it grows pretty vigorously. The best thing is the effect, though. WOO-HOO! It'll put a smile on your face the first time you try it. It's hard to describe it other than that I felt like I was in a dream world. No hallucinations, but just a funny feeling.

I've been slowed down by my political activities. I think I told you that I helped to start a new chapter of NORML in my town and this is a very busy time for us, because our legislature is working on a medical marijuana bill right now, before they send it to our governor to sign. And Minnesota is a pretty conservative state with all the farmers and stodgy, old Scandinavians living here, so we have to do a lot of education, especially for our state politicians. They're lagging WAY behind the general public on this issue. I think that about 2/3 of people in our state want it, but the politicians are scared of doing anything close to what California has. So the final law that's passed might turn out kind of funky, unlike anything in any other state. By that I mean very restrictive. The bill that passed in the House would simply fund a "research study" that would only last a few years, where people might get pot directly from their doctor. The doctor would write a prescription if you have one of a short list of illnesses. (Mine's NOT on this list.) The pot would be grown by a single grower for the entire state. Nobody could grow their own of course. The Senate version is a little better, because it allows about 50 privately-owned dispensaries to exist and they would each grow the pot that their customers need. But it doesn't let any patients grow for personal use either. So you see what we're up against. The legislators think that pot is only for partying and don't believe that it's been proven to be safe yet. That's because the Minnesota Medical Association is telling them that BS and who's gonna doubt that group?

If you aren't booked solid, and don't think I'm going to get you pinched, maybe you'll have to let me know when you are in DC. There is a WeGrow there that I've been wanting to check out. It's not terribly far from me. MUCH closer than Minnesota. Geez, man. Why don't you just put on your tuque and shuffle off to the Great White North? Too cold for me, dude. I like differing seasons, but that's the only place where I've ever had to tunnel my way from a vehicle to pee. I can't feel one of my legs, and ice is hard enough as infrequently as we get it HERE. How in the world can you tolerate all of that? It takes a special kind of person. Alaska is the same way. I would love to live there. Everywhere you look is like a painting, but unfortunately, I'm too much of a pussy...lol
Good luck with the NORML thing! We will bring everyone around eventually!
And yes...LSD!!! I can't wait. I have been window shopping it for a long time! Special deal at Herbies where you get a random Barneys seed with a Barney's purchase. Had to get some of that and the pineapple chunk. I think a tent of each is on tap for Christmas. :hump:

Hey, I'm with you, GB. I hate the cold and I hate snow, ice, slush, sleet, frozen pipes, power outages, etc, etc. I wouldn't live here by choice. My dream would be to move to Colorado where the weather's warm enough and you can grow your own legally. I only moved here from Milwaukee after college to take a software engineering job. Now that I'm on disability, it doesn't matter where I live, but I'm stuck here with a slightly underwater mortgage. Such is life. :spew:

I grew the Pineapple Chunk right after my first LSD plant. I think it's about the same potency with a different taste. It didn't give me the same weird feeling as the LSD, but it's very good shit. One of the best I've grown. I've been buying mostly Barney's Farm products since I started growing and am very happy with them. The germination rate is always high for me, too. I might have to get me some more Barney's while the sale is on.

My wife and I want to see all the sights in DC, so we will likely be booked solid for the week... unless we get bored with the museums. It's hard to say, because we've never been there before. I could probably meet you at the WeGrow for a few hours and have lunch or something. My wife won't mind. It's a long ways off, so let's keep it in mind and I'll get back to you when it gets closer to September. It would be great to see you in person. Too bad I don't have any cookies left to give you or I would. We're flying, so cookies are the only thing I'd feel safe getting through airport security. Hell, I even took pot cookies to Jamaica and back without any problems. And they were the bomb, too! 3 got me stoned on our last night in Florida before flying back to MN. :hump: (I've even eaten them in the airport's secure zone just before boarding the plane. Cookies are the best way to travel with your meds.)

Cookies...lol. I'd have never thought... I haven't flown since you could smoke on a plane! We will have to plan lunch, and some people-watching on the lawn. If you can't manage to bring anything with you, you will at least have a plan 'B':fire: My wife and I like to go to the Smithsonian every now and then. That could take up your whole week, and you'd still never see it all. We will see if we can work something out as things get closer. Today is actually our anniversary - a little weird, huh?

Happy Anniversary, man! That IS a weird coincidence. Maybe the 4 of us could meet up in DC if your wife is up for it. That would be even better. My wife loves to chat with other ladies (big surprise), so I'm sure they'd have a good time. If they get bored listening to "guy talk", they can go off and have some "girl talk" together.

Sounds like it will be a tight squeeze, but your plan seems sound so it should all work out. Let me know how that filter works for you, were always looking for feedback. The Dawg is awesome, he was one of the first people we met on here, and since then we have met tons of awesome growers who want to do the best they can.

I want to build a couple like I had last time if I have time to do it. I -might- put 2 plants in one big bin, but not sure yet. Right now I'm just thinking about how I'm gonna hang that heavy air filter. I think I'm gonna screw the fan to the wall pointing downward into the exhaust duct and I'll hoist the filter up above it and drop it down to dock with the magnetic cap. Just gotta finish setting up the mount for the fan on the wall and then screw the thing onto it.

Here’s what I did with the fan:

The Green Gator filter will hang from ropes just above it with the open end facing down.

That Max-Fan is strong, but it’s also awfully loud! My wife won’t be able to sleep unless I do some serious soundproofing around it. And if the wife can’t sleep, I might wind up sleeping in the garage.

Anyone have advice on how to make this thing a little quieter? It’s probably stronger than I need it to be, so I was thinking of connecting a second speed control switch to the fan’s power cord, to slow it down even more…

All 4 of my seedlings are doing nicely in the window sill so far:

Brother Dave Compared To Some The MaxFan Is Very Quite.Once You Get Thing Hooked Up Run It On 2 Cause Of Your Heat Lamp And Use A Noise Damping Sock Over Your Ducting. Also Just A Thought Why Dont You Put The Filter On The Floor And Exhaust Straight Up??

http://www.homedepot.com/b/Heating-Venting-Cooling-HVAC-Parts-Accessories-Ducting-Venting-Duct-Accessories-Insulation/N-5yc1vZc5hi/Ntk-Extended/Ntt-duct insulation?Ntx=mode matchpartialmax&NCNI-5
Thanks brother Dawg. You can see in the photo that I'm already using insulated ducting with fiberglass inside. I'm a little concerned about the noise because the fan already howls at setting '1'. It sounds as loud as my furnace's fan. I'll try gluing foam rubber to the closet walls and covering some of that near the fan with fiberglass insulation (covered so that loose fiberglass doesn't clog up the air filter).

Putting the filter on the floor would be easier, but I want it to suck the hot air out of the room. It'll remove more of that if it's near the ceiling where the hot air collects.

I think I can make it work, but was just a little surprised when I heard how loud this fan runs in comparison to my old bathroom ceiling fan that I had in my cabinet. That one was nearly silent, just not as strong.

whens the light going up? its like waiting for the cable guy to show up :P

I know! It's taking forever! You won't need to wait TOO much longer, because I got 4 seedlings growing already. I just need to work out some last minute complications, as you can see.

I guess I COULD make a high table that folds out from the wall after I hoist up the Gator to set on top of it. Then I could vent straight up, using only a short piece of ducting. That would make it high enough, too. Making the table should be fairly simple. Just a board, a couple of hinges and a couple of legs to prop it up...

Edit: Or maybe I could just let it hang from the crossbars in this position without a table...
