dark periode near end of grow???

can anyone tell me if they experimented with giving plants less light just before harvest?? does this help speed up any last thc production??
or is it useless ??
 
Increase the light ,the last 2weeks,14on/10off,Oh give them a lil coca-cola,1oz.per gallon of water.
 
I gave my last plant 48 hrs of darkness before the cut, and to me it seemed to make a difference in the amount of visual crystals on the buds. I have no scientific proof, but they looked much more sparkly after the 48hrs of darkness, but whos to say they wouldnt have looked that much better had I left the lights on. Its all up to the grower, some questions you have to answer for your self
 
Instead of using coca-cola, be a pro, get some molasses and add 1 tbs/ 1 gallon every watering. This has significantly improved the potency and aroma of my buds like you wouldn't believe.

I tried the 48h darkness once and it did not seem to have any significant effect. My plant was already full of crystals from the molasses and UV, so maybe it does work and I just couldn't see it.
 
the darkness doesnt help, but an extra hour of light in the last 2 weeks does. plants dont have feelings, and i have never seen the point...take away the plants energy source, and this is supposed to help? i call BS, late

Is there any negative aspect to this method?

I also read that you can double your yeald by inducing vegging at 2-3 weeks before harvest and keeping your plant in this revegging for 3-4 weeks and then reinduce flowering.

This method has been proven to really increase yeald. Should this 13/11 or 14/10 method be a simplified version of the method above?
 
totally different, this just gives the plant extra energy without reverting back to veg. your other idea would produce major bud but will lengthen your grow cycle quite a lot.
 
hummmmmmmm unteresting dabate!! we will have to find more people to help resolve this!!! anybody else have any info on this 13-11 0r 14-10 light shedule??
 
I have also wondered what would create more potent buds towards harvest time; yet, one seemed to work overwhelmingly better than the rest. I have witnessed tons of different tricks such as 3 days of dark, a nail in the stalk, harvesting ripe buds only, and one trick always leaves nice runner bud (fox tails) chunky calyx.
I simply place the light an additional 8'-12' further away from plants. It cools down the room a bit too creating a more fall feel. I have even gone as far as changing the bulb from 10-20% blue spec hps--full red spec hps 400W

Just try to mimic mother nature and everything is irie.

there is little to nothing you can do the few days before harvest (darkness, nials, starving, etc.)to change what was done in the last 2 months. if you take your time and care for them as needed, you will have great bud (with a decent strain). late
 
I cut the lights out 24 hours before harvest because I've read it produces more resin. I have nothing to compare it too though.
