Dark period before harvest?

I'm a week away from cutting my AK48's. This is my 1st grow, I was wondering if there is anything I should do before cutting them? Dark period? I have heard a couple things but don't really know what I should do. Any advice will help. Thanks!

I started the same thread about 2 months ago and got so many different responses. I asked about period of dark before switching to 12/12 and everyone said it shows the sex of the plant a few days sooner. Now for harvest I've heard both sides. Some say it does nothing, and others swear by it. I'm going to stick around to see what answers you get.

I wouldn't water any more because it will make it easier to dry. I have let them go for a 24-36 hour dark period and I have just chopped them down when I wanted. I havn't really noticed a big difference. I usually chop em when the the lights are off though. If it's not too humid where you're growing letting them sit in the dark won't hurt them. I have heard that the plants put in the dark before harvesting will increase potency but im not sure.
