Just noticed the timer in veg wasnt on the little watch hand but flipped to the run 24/7 position. Face palm :wall: I was wondering why things seemed to be stressed out in the veg jungle. And yall are droppin emerald jewels all up in the thread. :oops: Jelly face

ok i learned something yesterday. i made a run of iso the other night, and i let mine set is a dark spot till it evaps. this time i set it on the front porch to evap. my second run was green as always, but it isn't now. seems when the sunlight gets to it it dissolves the green, and now i have red more red then any amber i have made so for. i got to checking and some people do this to smooth it out. if that is the case then i'm going to do a 1 minute shake and strain it out, then set it out where the sun can get to it. looks like experiment time.


edit - this seems to be something that is known, well i didn't know it, and never saw it while reading up on making iso. not only does it change the color, smooth out the smoke, it makes it more sedative. so no experiment needed, i'll just do this from here on out.

I usually just let mine sit on the counter, but the first vid I watched on Youtube, the 2 guys put their tray on a ladder outside in the sun to evap.
You're right though, I haven't seen anything either to indicate UV will make a diff. on final color.
 
i just had someone link me to thundercat's grow thread where he put his hash in the sun to turn it red. was told it was talked about alot, but it has been awhile.

I noticed that the more oily consistency of the iso is a much smoother hit. The second run i made was much better but 3 different textures. Wax, oily wax, and oil.

As long as you evap long enough there is no alcohol taste or smell. I need to figure out how to make it straight oil. I wonder if using more water after the wash would help keep it oily.

instead of using iso use everclear, then it doesn't have to evap all the way.

I read that when using everclear you dont smoke, you consume the final product orally. Ill see if i can find the page.
