Dankroots RDWC round 2

Hello fellow growers, did a test run with one bucket, while waiting for my 2" bulk heads to show up and i think i got it down now. Ran into some problems during the test run and im basically starting fresh. This is my first full run at DWC so wish me luck. Have room setup for the most part. Still have some finishing touches. Will be choosing a strain in about 1 week. Want to make sure i have all my eggs in a basket before i throw genetics in there. So lets get rolling

10'x6'x9' room
Sun system Ac\De reflector
Solis tek digital matrix 1k ballast
Solis tek 1000w de hps
Solis tek 600w 6k de mh
Ecoplus 1/4hp water chiller
Ecoair 7 commercial air pump
8" Hyperfan
Stealth ro 100
8gal ropak DIY UC 4XL RDWC system
Dual micro pore air diffusor .25 micron

Bulkheads came in today and finished building the system, filled with water and bleach going to stetilize over night. It came out A+ and i have a good feeling about this grow. Feel free to chime in and join the party, let me know what you all think

can i ask ? how many gallon is the one black tote and where can i get one what are the measurements like to use as a single DWC

Thanks terry super excited to get this going. They are 8 gal ropak containers, about 14 bucks and 5 bucks for the lids at my local shop. They also have 13gal which i might switch up to in the future. Not sure on measurements but there not to big or tall. The 13 gallon are a diffrent story.

pervert size i'm looking for,, use 5 gal. black buckets now i grow huge plants in them root is kinda big is that a local grow shop ?

Yeah its a local shop in my area, you can probaly source them online also. Those are some crazy roots and super healthy plants

Ok im still trying to figure this out, when i do get my new genetics and put them in the net pot. Do i submerge the entire net pot or leave it just below it???

I feel you on that one. Yeah i have gotten that nasty shit in the past, i picked up some dutch master zone and im running house and garden aqua flakes and some of there additives when i get up and running. Picked up that chiller for 200$ new worth every penny.

i like to start with clones put water just below net pot and top water for a few days i have one with a seed in rock wool cube not looking great just popped took a week

Nice, looking good. Ok i will keep that in mind. Going to run spagheti lines to top feed hooked up to a smaller pump on a timer. Yeah these buckets are bad ass. Im getting the 13gal ones when i go into flower will give me more room.

Ok so said f@ck it and took out 2 buckets and got 2 tangie clones that my buddy couldnt take care of. Going to nurse them back to health, they have nice roots coming out of rockwool cube and are ready to branch out. Running to the local store and picking up a new lid for the epicenter.

Filled netpots up with hydroton and have them in there buckets. ?Have a question, how long does it take for roots to grow out of net pot?

Filling system with ro water and should be up and running soon

System half way filled up, started up pump and water chiller, threw in 10ml of aqua flakes a and b. Said mix at 2.5ml per gal. Total system volume of 21ish gal. Wanted to start off light until they get on there feet.

Added 20ml of dutch master zone. Ppms came out at 230ppm should drop in half once system is filled up. Ph is 7.0 and water temp is 64f. Once i get the water to the desired level dropping the ph down. Going to hand water them for a week and hopefully roots drop by than.

Pretty dope how this system circulates everything makes feeding easy and all the same. So far so good

looking good, run low ppm until you get a feel for the plant.

Thanks gand3r. Will do, im at about 140ppms, been hand watering them first thing in the morning and right before i go to bed. They are getting the green back and are looking better. Ph has been really stable, only rose to 5.9 so far. Things are going good hopefully roots drop in a couple days.

Not much growth yet, think I need to drop the water level more as the rocks in the net pot are too saturated. Is this OK? Or should I drop the water level until roots drop? They are starting to get there color back and are looking better. Any info appricited thanks.

Update.... Ok checked the bottom of the cubes and there starting to root out more, bright white fuzzy roots, thinking about getting some roots excel and give them some of that to boost root development. I'm thinking a week before they drop through the net pot.

OK so there is root growth, there looking better than when I first got them. Think there still in the process of going back into veg. So just have to be patient and let them do there thing. Vegging these babies around 1.5 months, training them and than switching to large volume totes or 13 gal ropak containers for flower. Hopeing for a monster harvest. Picked up some bud xl and top booster.

Cool setup. Like it. You might wanna cover up your r.o. Setup you will start growing green algae in it shortly if it's in the same room as your lights or getting any substantial light. Look forward to watching your grow.

Couple questions. What's is the black thing on top of the pvc pipe where the poly pipe meets? How do you drain the system for water changes and maintenance?

The black thing is an inline water filter, keeps my water crystal clear and keeps bad shit out of my water chiller. As for draining the t fitting that dumps water into the epicenter, i hook a hose up to one end and plug the other, drains easily. System is basically an undercurrent 4XL. I flush with tap water while draining to clear everything out. Drain it almost completly. Than i use a small shotvac and suck the remaining out. And refill with ro. Ez pz.

Thanks for stopping by. Yeah i need to get a new lid for the epicenter. Im running dutch master zone and clean out the growth chambers every water change. Thanks for the heads up tho. I want this grow to go as smoothly as possible.

Miss read your post lol, I'm ordering the algae blocker covers stealth makes that cover the filters....
