So you convinced me... it seems easy enought to build my own bubbleponic system.

I have my shopping list ready, am I missing anything?

-Rubermaid at least 18 gallons
-6 net pots
-hydroton
-an airpump
-air hose
-bubble bar

Is that it?

I'd recommend using 5 gallon buckets instead. 1 per plant.

You can get a strong air pump and use splitters off to each bucket.

do you guys think that having one 5 gallon bucket with a 6in or 12in airstone and one of those 5 watt air pumps will be enough for the bucket?

The more air stone the better, you might want to consider having 2x 12"... And your going to want to get an air pump that is designed for at least 4x the amount of water...

As far as is 5watts enough... possibly i think those typically for like 80gallon fish tanks... in that case you should be good. But if you ever get a larger settup or plan on increasing from just 1 bubble bucket you would want to consider getting a larger air pump and using the 5watt for a backup.
