damaged roots on my plant will it die?

i was transplanting my babyy and i damaged the root that was hanging out the bottom of the cup...so im just wondering will it die?

ight thanks for the reply..............but when the roots normally damage what will happen...is it possible they can still grow?
 
prolly not, ever heard of a bonsi tree? they trim the rootball to keep it stunted, it will prolly not grow for a lil and might affect the end yeild a little but shouldn't die

yes, usually a plant can recover but it depends how much of the roolballl you destroyed. if it's a baby, it may have a harder time recovering.

I just had a hydro grow where I built the system but didnt account for the roots going into the drain tube.
I cut off about half of one plants roots, about 12 inches, thought it would go into shock but nothing.
