CXB3590 290W - how much light to use?

Hi, i think I am providing my plants with too much light, seeing some weird symptoms, I have 6 x CXB3590 in a 75 x 75 x 200cm tent,

is there any device to reliably measure the light intensity? I have an adjustable dimmer on the power supply, I have measured the power draw from the wall at about 290W from memory
most of the time i will have the potentiometer at about 12 o clock position - is there a certain wattage then maybe i should be aiming for? thanks

I use that same setup in my tent. 6 Cree 3590's running off a meanwell 320 watt driver.
My tent is larger though, it is 3x3x6(91x91cm)
I use it dimmed about 25% during the veg, then turn it up to full for flower. But you gotta keep the light away from the flowers as it will cook them, 6 inches anyhow, a foot away is better..

I would not want 55-60 watts a square foot, that is VERY high. 45-50 w/sq ft is better.

320-380 watts/square meter is a common recommendation with good white LED. I'm not sure of the efficiency of the CXB3590's, but around 35w foot should be ok for flower and around half that for veg. A cheap Lux meter can be useful. Good info in this post, but read the others!

thanks - think i'm afraid of not giving them enough light

If I were you I would not run them at full power. We both are right at 53 watts per cob and thats a lot. My tent is 25% bigger than yours and I am careful.
But..what you have can grow great flower!!!
No I never have them running at full power - usually have the pot around 12 o'clock position but I'm pretty sure the pot does not scale linearly so i don't really know how much power the leds are putting out at this position - I need to hook in my power meter to the plug socket and measure the wattage at a range of positions

another thing I've just remember from previous grow - my buddy said the buds "were running" up the colas and this may be a sign of temps being too high, I am seeing this strain do the same thing, big gaps between bud sites on the colas - so reducing light intensity and temp is more than likely what I need to do
