CXA3590 Build Plan

The holders will ship next week. So I will have all the electronic paths squared away, but no need to build that yet. I will solve the water path soon. There are so many ways to do It. But, I am looking for the most easy.

You can find threaded bung plugs for 2" OD sq. But as a structural wheel hub attachment they are made of steel. Using even stainless, there will be galvanic corrosion.

And I can get 3/4" short threaded nipples in Aluminum. So, after my fiddle fart fun, probably the best idea is to have a welder put on 1/2" thick end plates that I drill and tap for 3/4".
Where did you order your holders from? I can't seem to find any in stock =/

Still think youll regret the 1.4a

:P
Let's see. I have 10 drivers and 16 COBs. I have no-solder holders. I have a wicked gleam in my eye. I have a 2000 watt water exhaust system.

So, what do you think....really..... is gonna to happen? :)

The biggest risk in running at a high current is you won't kick HPS's ass enough to justify the cost and time.

Keep in mind, I never told you how you should design your light, I've only listed concerns and tried to bring certain things to your attention.

See, this is what I have gotten thru my hard head. So, as much as I would like to drive the crap out of them, it's not really the point. My PG&E bills are high enough and I need to cap that.

Very good point.

It is tempting. (see? I was) But, 50w/50%/$50 is a better goal for me over all.

The thing is I do hate waste unless it is fuel for horsepower.

It always galled me to replace HPS bulbs. I have 4 old ones now. I hate the trouble of disposing of them but more, there is still so much light there, I hate to throw it away.

Sell the HPS leftovers on craiglist.

What sort of COBS are you planning to use for your fixture?

so, after 37 pages, you still haven't built it? it's only 3 parts: metal, cob, driver.
O lord LOL.

I was scratching my head wondering the same thing earlier, about the thread being x37 pages long and still plenty left to go.

Am I wrong to assume that this is the first ever of it's kind, Doer's design, or is it merely a replication of another?

I made it up myself and you all saw it. I didn't start out with this idea.

And what is all this bitching of a sudden? What does it matter how many pages?
Beside, about 30 pages of this thread is just this kind of trolling. Troll made the thread long so trolls can bitcha abouta that.

Seems like the thread title says 3590. A or B, makes no difference wrt driver/heatsink. I was just wondering what's taking so long, because I like to see the new builds people make. Calm down.

Wow.. I think I asked the question earlier what COBS Doer was going to use... LOL how'd I miss the fucking title?! Hahaha

Good times.

Doer, no bitching on my part mate. I understand that it takes a little longer to crank out a new concept or design, especially when it's intended to be kick ass! (Prototype #2 underway for me and still ordering new parts for new tweaks)

I was really having a hard time fathoming the fact that this thread had so many posts/comments but yeah, I guess trolls and the "gargoyles" (@REALSTYLES lol) gotta take refuge somewhere, aye?

You are not keeping up, we were just talking about the delay for holders, still need to make cones, can't buy them, had to get the welding done, big pipe tap on order.

You are really gonna be bored when I start testing. :)

I don't see how it is taking very long at all. It's the 9th of April and my first post in the thread was 7th of Mar.
