Cuttings and Cloning Questions: Deteriorating Genes?

Hi All,

i top from 3 week old vegged plants and make the tops into clones
Then, I would wait until those clones are transplanted and repeat the cutting/cloning process
I have been suffering from heat issues and occasional poor ventilation.
Will my plants get worse as time goes on? I'm starting to notice that my new plants in veg are growing taller but the side branches are not growing outwards. The side branches are kinda small to tell the truth. Imagine a stick with a few gimpy arms. No deformities otherwise.
Am I screwing up the genetics of my plants? Is it possible to get it back to how it was before? It used to be a great strain that yielded 2+ lbs per 1000w light. SUPER potent.

Thanks!

Your genetics are fine, its your method and growing style that needs tuning up. Once you get everything dialed in they will be fine.

I always take my clones from the lower side branching, this material needs to be cleaned out anyway, so waste not, etc.. Save your top material for production, except for the occasional topping or fim.
Good luck & good grow.......BB

I usually top my girls. When do you guys think would be a good time to bloom them after topping? Like, should I wait a week or something?
