Cutting off the Buds?

So judging by past experience what method works better- making cuttings and trying to grow a new plant, or just reharvesting the same plant? Which methods produce more yield, strength, etc.

WAY bigger, but I didn't know what that one particular plant was, so really didn't give it much attention . . . it was among 6 others that I knew and treated better. First time around I only got 4 maybe 1" buds (dried, those were the BIG ones!) and a bunch of teeny pieces. When I finally got around to smoking it, W O W . . . could be the very best high I've found in 40+ years . . . had to rejuv simply to clone it. (only had the one seed)
Well, the reju went so well that now there's gotta be a couple oz's on it, probably more? The clones, some of which I flowered with the mothership, while doing well, aren't nearly as sated with goodies . . . . yet.
I did grow these using RIU advice rather than using my own methods, ie: topping, training, dumping the water (fan) leaves as they appear, etc . . . scores of years of experimentation. If the clones don't put off some damn fine sized buds, I'll go back to my own way. It's looking like I could get as much off 6 plants done my way as I will get off 15 done thru these boards.

As for which is quicker . . . I'd say cloning, or seed, as the reju itself can take a couple of months, BUT the reju plant is stronger and thicker and totally used to it's environment.
I found a couple old pics of the first time around with same plant.
