Cutting fan leaves

After you have read these type of threads a few times, and see the same ignorance repeat itself time and time again, you may start to think, "God, just delete your account, and give up growing MJ. In fact dont even bother trying to grow a houseplant."

If you would like, I can stop trying to give people some useful info, and let them continue on believing all these myths that marijuana forums have perpetuated. MJ forums remind me of the movie Idiocracy. If the world had to learn how to grow plants of any type solely from MJ forums, we'd be in a world of shit.
Agreed, it gets frustrating.

A guy I've coached into a successful indoor commercial grow over EIGHT YEARS heard about removing sun leaves and without telling me, began doing so after an acquaintance mentioned the practice. No research. Just "because".

One day he called, complaining about reduced yields. We had gone over a bunch of possibilities when, without thinking he commented that he was doing everything right, Nute mix, lights, watering, removing sun leaves....

At which point I said "WHAT?"

He's a life long gardener as I am, and should have known better.

Anyway, now two years later, he no longer removes leaves.

He seems much happier with his yields, as well.

My point is, some people just can't help messing with success, with little or no research to back up their actions.

Must be a bunch of fucking stoners...

Dude, I'm not dissing your skills. They're obvious.

The whole point revolves around WHY a medical grower would wish to reduce their total yields by robbing their plants of energy.

I've yet to see a study spelling out the benefits of removing sun leaves.

Every knowledgeable source I've come across has had nothing but negative comments regarding the practice.

Personally, we only throw away the stems and roots of my plants.

Every green leaf gets used for buds, hash, hash oil, or butter for edibles.

Yes, we eat a lot of brownies.

My grows have only been legal since 1996.(My wife got cancer the first time in 1978.)

My "fucking stoners" comment was intended to commiserate, not insult. We all have idiosyncrasies.

This one is just a pet peeve.

Yup!

No plant has ever topped 412 grams(except for maybe twelve of mine last year.)

Sorry you don't see it.

For years, a friend and dispensary owner averaged over 500 grams indoors. He loves monster plants.

He doesn't pull leaves off.

On pg. 74 of Jorge Cervantes' Indoor/Outdoor Medicinal Grow Bible, he makes some brief comments regarding removing sun leaves.

Take a look?

I don't care if you want to damage your plants.

I just dislike people encouraging the use of bogus ideas.

And this one is bogus.

Maybe you should take a step back as you're starting to embarrass yourself.

Yup!

You can grow a weed, and it survives, despite your techniques.

You've chosen to avoid putting your ideas to the test with comparisons.

If you had pix and positive results, you'd have shown us your comparisons.

Some folks believe the world will end December 21st, 2012, with no proof, as well.

I mentioned the positive reasons to remove growth earlier. Your reasons are unreasoned.

LOL!

Any vigorously growing plant will replace lost foliage.

Show me two plants, with/without, side by side if you expect to prove anything.

You won't because you can't.

Write a book if this works so well. I haven't seen one yet that supports the practice.

Have you?

Yes, I can be an asshole, but I'm not stupid.

Apparently you can't say the same.

LOL!

You'll spend days telling bullshit stories but won't take a few minutes to provide proof?

If you could, you would.

This really is funny.
