Cutting a Hedge Row

I'm going to preface this with an "I'm high and I have this great idea!" disclaimer.

Here's the deal: I have a DWC flowering chamber filled with plants I wasn't planning on flowering, and they're just starting to flower. Half of 'em are 33" tall and growing. The other half are anywhere from 18" - 24". The shorter half are in the middle of the cabinet. Moving the plants isn't an option since their roots are completely tangled.

Here's the problem: I have a CFL rack in there that can't be removed until the plants are out, so throwing a 400hps in there isn't an option. The taller plants are getting good light up top. The shorter plants are starting to suffer low light problems.

Here's the question: Should I trim this crop like a hedge and get a good dose of light to all the plants evenly across the chamber?

I considered LST, but after examining the situation I decided it would be impossible to bend these without completely covering the shorter plants.

Thoughts???

so you want to cut almost a foot off the taller plants to get better light to the smaller ones...seems like you would just be changing which plants get the best bud as those taller one's will take longer cause of the cut..just my 2...peace

You make an excellent point! Bigger colas from the bigger plants, or finish faster so I can get my next crop in there under an hps.

I'm going to say this is a point for the Pros of hedge rowing this. The hps is going to be much more efficient on a gram/day basis.

Thank you greenbud1
