custom mini hydroponic for mother

I was brainstorming a little bit. I'll need a mini hydroponic system set up for mother plants. I thought about soil for the mothers, but maybe keeping everything hydroponic would be more consistent.

here's my idea. not much water is needed for a top feed drip system. just a single small tube is enough, like what is used for the fish tank air pumps. you know what pump is that size and is cheap and easy to come by? the pumps that spray windshield washer fluid at your cars windshield. they come in a variety of shapes and sizes and run off 12 volts, like most computer fans do. if you don't get the shoplifters discount at the local junk yard, you might end up paying a dollar or 2 for each pump.

as long as you don't run the pumps for more then a few minutes at a time, they should last a while. they're only designed to run for a few seconds at a time, to clean your windshield, so continuous use would burn it out on the first day. a minute or 2 at a time should be ok for the pumps and should be enough to wet the grow media nicely.
