Current discount codes for Optic lights and HLG lighting?

Looking for current discount codes for HLG lighting or Optic lights as I'm looking to buy a 650 from one of them. I already have 13t QBs from HLG, but those seperate dimmers for all 3(white/red/blue) leds on the Optic 650s looks nice. Also if anyone has heard anything about Black Friday deals for these companies, feel free to jot that down here as well. Thanks.

Hello @MATTYMATT726

Just a quick note - Timber is running a Black Friday Sale now through 11/30 with 20% off all lights.

Have a good day

Ok, so i looked at the reviews and i bought the 4VS which says it covers 3x3 and up to 3.5x3.5. I was wondering if you can tell me how far it penetrates the canopy and on average how much heat it adds. Myself, i am in a cold weather state(NY) for the winters and usually have my house temps in the low to mid 60s at most(I'm a cool weather guy) and am hoping this light would add some heat to the tent. Thank you for the tag, and i look forward to giving Timber a go.

Define penetration first, lol. Not sure there is a great agreement of what it is or even if it has to do with the light. But i do know a lot of users that praise cobs/timber for its great penetration. Congrats, you bought from a conpany who has the happiest clients. Ive seen complaint on literally any brand, except timber.

If you have problems with not enough heat in your tent then try intake on top, extract from the bottom. Ymmv

I think most people would define penetration as how deep the light will go and still be strong. If i have the light 18" from the canopy and it's reading 1000ppf directly under the center point, how far down is it at that intensity and at what point does it go weak. Is it good to grow 6 ft tall plants and the plant recieves good lighting below or is it only good for 3 feet below the canopy level.

This is the issue: that has very little to do with the actual light, it has to do with plant structure, defoliation etc. If you have a full cannopy there is very little light down from the second leaf. We saw about 150ppfd after the top cannopy. Same thing hps, same thing different leds. So the lower buds arent really growing by light coming down to them cause you really cant grow decent bud with so little light. Yet there are buds far down. So are we measuring penetration by light or by how far your buds are? Cause you can defo have the buds but without high intracannopy light levels.

I know this isnt a popular opinion but "penetration" is the biggest grow bro myth imho. Getting decent sized buds down in the lower cannopy (if your not side lighting or the top light actually sneaks into the plant by cannopy not being full); to me it depends on how developed roots you have, how train and prune your plants (lolipopping will help you get bigger lower buds since no energy goes to those lowest and removed sucker buds) and how much energy the plant can get from the top cannopy. Also from general plant size, stem size, node distance...
You could make an argument for blurple being lacking in penetration as it completely lacks green, which is the most "penetrating" color but since all modern leds have green in them its a wash between lights.
Some say that cobs are good at penetrating due to lots of light from a small area, it could be, ive not seen anything either way.

What can be said for sure: cob growers tend to like their results over boards and dont like to change. But cobs tend to not reach as high efficiency as boards due to thermal characteristics of a small chip for lots of watts. Also boards should in theory be better at penetrating as they hay better spread, assuming similar form factors.

Its a very hard question to answer.
Id just grow and see what you get :)

Not so sure i made the right choice here. I ordered a 4 VS on November 20th and whlie they have had my money for weeks, i have received zero updates past the order confirmation email. Without a response from a requested update i sent 2 days ago, I'm going to have to get my bank to cancel and refund my money. Not at all happy with how my purchase with Timber is going and slightly upest i missed the opportunity to grab a light at discount from another company.

They didn't tell you the lead time was multiple weeks? You sure you just didn't notice it was going to take weeks to ship? Some companies make the lights to order, so you order, they build what you ordered then they ship it.
I noticed when looking at lights most had a lead time listed and some you could get more percent off the longer your lead time was.
Also you should tag that Timber advertiser, maybe he will have some answers

Lead time said 10 to 15 days if i recall. It's over 3 weeks, and most companies put the funds on hild but don't take payment until order is actually fulfilled. With Christmas now, I'm looking at sometime in January with $500+ sitting in limbo. Not a good way to do business in my opinion.

Nah, definitely didn't say 3 weeks. Why would i have paid for something for almost 2 months to get factoring the hollidays?
Hello @MATTYMATT726

I saw your post and your email. Sorry we haven't responded yet. We state our lead times on each product page and always in business days, especially during the holidays with altered day off schedules being more impactful than normal.

As with many items on the market this holiday season, our lights depend on access to components currently in short supply due to raw material, production and shipping backlogs. We do our best to reflect each product lead time based on the most recent information from suppliers as each light has different parts required for their production. It is not uncommon for there to be a shorter lead time on one product compared to another based solely on component availability.

We are happy to refund you the shipping plus $25 for the time and inconvenience. I anticipate your light being ready to ship by the end of this week - in addition to the refund email, keep an eye out for your tracking email as well in a few days.

We appreciate your business and support very much - if you have any questions, or need additional information, always feel free to contact me direct at [email protected] or 866-892-5364.

Have a good day
Dan

You are welcome - I understand the frustration and we want to have your equipment to you as soon as we can. As we discussed, let me know if you need anything in the interim.

Have a good day
Dan
It's ok, the refund wasn't necessary as i just wanted some confirmation that with the hollidays that my money or the light wasn't lost in the void. Again, i appriciate the response/email to update the status.
