Curious first timer

So its getting pretty damn expensive here on the East Coast so I decided to try and grow my own buds. Started with ten currently only have four left. I would really like to at least have one make it so my time wasn't completely wasted. I attached a couple close-up pictures, and was curious to know what exactly these little growths are. Is the sex starting to show even though I'm vegetating them 18/6? Any advice is well appreciated.

I'd say it's a little too soon. 6-8 weeks before you really know. Just be patient...What kind of lighting are you using? One things for sure, when you transplant them, fill the pot up with your medium. They will get all stretched out trying to get to the light.

the little side things are leaf buds that are growing. you won't see signs of sex for a while. but males almost always flower first. that insures pollination
