curiosity about my WW plants

Hey guys, i was wondering, are there different varieties of WW plants or is it me?

I have seen many ppl's journals and they are getting their WW plants in just about 6 weeks to 32-65 inches high.

I am about 5 weeks into Veg with my three WW plants which have been grown from seed, (which are only 12 inches high atm)and they are sitting under a http://www.plugandgrow.co.uk/ lamp.

Basically its a 200Watt CFL which produces 6700k.

i am wondering if is more a lighting problem or an organic problem (hydroponically would make plants grow faster and bigger).

i mean, the light is really strong i have to admit, the bulb is about 1.5 feet long. and it is very bright.

can someone help me out on this issue i have?

it is really bizzare cause i have seen many ppl grow under CFL lights and they are getting bigger plants.

any comments would really help.

cheers

Thats not what i really meant, i wanted to say that for its size, it looks like a good kit for lighting, after all, im only growing 3 plants. it just seems that its not giving enough "umphf" if you know what i mean.

however, i'll leave it to the experts to help me identify the problem

You could be right. More light never hurts if heat isn't an issue.

It's a different spectrum of light also, so that's not a fair comparison. What's the average temp in your space?

To answer your 1st question.....There are many different pheno types of WW as well as different breeders. Hell, the tude has a section just for WW strains.

i think im going to flower them, it is true that they grow even more once they are flowering, so even though they are about 12 " now, in two months time they could be about 18-20''?

plants grow a little faster in hydro that is maybe why you are seeing other people with really tall plants in short time periods. 12 inches in 4 weeks is a pretty standard expectation. But height alone isn't the main factor in size anyway. How bushy is your plant is it comparable to others you have seen?

In flowering your plants will double and possibly triple in height and your smaller branches will extend. I flower my white widow at 12 inches and usually finish with about 30 inches of plant.

There are many WW phenotypes. I have three in my grow.

Then debush it a little towards the bottom. You can use the cuttings for clones if you are ready for that. I would cut 4-6 branches from the bottom of the plant they won't produce nugs of value anyway due to lack of light. Then send it in to flower.
