curing question

hey guys,

so i just chopped my first harvest, already smoked 40g that were my first two plants that hermied out near the end, and got a second payload of 70g from another two plants that were gorgeous to the end.

so i chopped em and hung em to dry em, i used small branches though and in like 3 1/2 days they were pretty dry... 1/2 of the branches were snapping and such so i jarred em and was burping em twice a day for ... its been 9 days now, just started burping once a day and the smell is getting better and better.

question is: how long do all ya'll cure minimum?

and how do i know when i can stop burping them and let them just sit and cure in the dark without worrying about them?

and has anybody had their stuff hang dry in 3 days? what did i do wrong that it wasn't 4-5? the first batch (40g) i waited 5 days and it was crazy dry...i live in arid socal i guess that might be a factor...but. alright cool everybody have a good day :peace:

I like to cure for at least 10 days. I think what you call burping, I call sweating.

I usually let them sweat out for like 10-15 days until they're ready for the final cure.

It's when you open the jar you're curing in for like 15-20 minutes to let the bud "sweat out" the remaining moisture.

and how do you differentiate when they're dry enough for their 'final cure' where you don't have to sweat 'em anymore? you can just tell it's dry enough?

you can cure it as long as you can stand to wait, the longer it goes the better. Some people cure for 3 months.

some people cure for even longer...i know that i'm just curious about moisture content. etc.
