hi,

im way off harvest, might not even make it (first grow).

but i was wondering can you cure in baggies? i have large smelly proof, double zip bags spare and some jars.

what are the pro's and cons of each?

can you even use a plastic baggie?

thanks

I use the old canning jars that are blue, I also have a pump that sucks all the air out of them. I still open them up all the time to give me a sniff and to check them out. So my vote is for jars

maryjane could you link to the pump you're talking about? i'm about to dry/cure and looking to get me one of those

what's the science behind using jars?

i imagine the plastic might absorb or affect the buds in some way? whilst the glass jars dont/ not as much?

or maybe i'm thinking about it too much :(

thanks

I've never used plastic but some people say that plastic containers affect the taste of the buds, I can't say for sure though. The idea of the glass Mason jars (canning jars) is that it makes for an airtight seal. You want deprive the buds of oxygen during the curing process, I suppose a plastic container with a good seal would do also but like I said I've heard plastic affects the taste. Plastic bags don't provide a good enough seal.
