Crispy buds

Hey all I have 2 girls about 4 weeks into flower, I noticed a couple parts of the buds are dry and cripsy. Anybody know what could cause this? Could it be bud rott?

Caterpillars? Worms? Pics will help.

I dug around looking for caterpillars but I couldn't find any, or any signs of their poop. I sprayed a couple rounds of safer catarpillar killer on them recently too. I'm thinking maybe when I sprayed they developed some bud rot.

I wish I could post some pics but I cannot figure out to do so.
