Crimea Blue with a cheap COB

I am back at it again, this time I am running Barney's Farm Crimea Blue from seed. It's my second run with this plant and if its anything like the previous phenotype we are in for a good time.

I will be running under all the same conditions once again - to recap
3 gallon fabric container
FFOF
160ish Watt Chinese COB grow light (http://www.ebay.com/itm/like/322012646958?ul_noapp=true)
16inch X 16inch X 4 ft grow tent
single 4 inch duct fan for ventilation
12/12 from seed

The Crimea Blue is in the large container, the other plant is a male that I will grow out in another area.

She is currently at day 17, a bit small for its age and is not a very vigorous plant.

So I have converted Crimea from soil to hydro today. I recently realized how much less work and greater control I have with a DWC system vs. Soil. Sadly this may mean a few more days of transplant shock, but I am confident the end result will outmatch what i could achieve with the previous setup.

Update time:
Flowering started maybe 12ish days ago, it really shot up and out very quickly once the roots settled into the new environment, Smell is very much as I remember it, soft hashy blueberry with a slight spice, Structure is also similar to my previous run of Crimea Blue, however I still need to clean up the bottom a bit

Note to self: Converting from soil to hydro, while possible, introduces some variables to the plant that may cause problems down the road. Seems like not only the amount of soil, but the composition/nutrient levels also makes a difference.
I transplanted 3 plants this year from soil to hydro in early vegetative stage. All three plants have displayed similar issues, with varying levels of severity. basically from light spotting on the older fan leaves to rather significant spotting and leaf death.
The crimea blue suffered the most losing maybe 10-20% of her leaves, The problem appears to have stopped spreading as of last week, clearing up the damage and will post some pics later on. Growth has still been steady and shes getting pretty frosty, smell is a pleasant blueberry hash just like I remember it.

What substrate are you using in the dwc bucket?

Hello @Nutria , There is a layer of hydroton at the bottom, and Fox Farm Ocean forest soil for the rest. It was sprouted in seed starting soil (mostly peat moss).

The time has come. I am bringing her down in parts a little early. I need to make room for new things. First things first

Overall assessment... The smell is nice, hash and blueberry, not too loud, soft and pleasant. Seems it will be potent enough. The stature of the plant was small, and really has no outstanding properties. I didn't really bring it to its full potential, but I can't say I would run it again at this point... not bad, just not great. I'll follow up with a smoke report later on

next dwc run start the seed in something like rapid rooters and place in the netpot with hydrotons. Don't use soil in dwc

I completely agree! It was a last minute decision I made to convert from soil to hydro, albeit, it was a bad decision in this case. I have others that I did not start in soil which did just fine. more pics coming soon
