Crappy Seeds - which ones are you getting ?

I noticed alot of postings over the forums about shitty seed stock. I personally trashed 4 plants because of mutations or weak genetics.
Example .....
Weak structure - spindly branching
Irregular growth ( one side normal / opposite thin branching , etc. )
Bud on a stick growth ( fucking hate that ).
Non germ

Etc. ..... Etc.

One run of Cali Connection Grape OG was a total waste .... 10 seed run - 4 popped , 5 tap root stuck out but did not grow , 1 never germed. The ones that did " grow " stayed ( stunted ) at or near 9" and froze that way. Medium basic seed starter mix .

Anyways ... Just interested in the SHIT SEEDS you may have noticed lately when spending your dollars .... Share what to look out for .

The seeds i bought recently were shit. I got 10 freebies and none of them germinated, and the ones i paid for only 50% germinated.

So which ones ( strain ) would you say are better kicked to the curb ?
Is there a particular breeder you are currently hating ?

Maybe stop using auto's might help, there's always gonna be some ruderalis in there by definition

Just to throw in some examples :
Barney's Blue Cheese
( grew like a fucking toothpick with small buds )

Ultraviolet
( another STICK plant - no side branching )

Crazy Miss Hyde
( supposed to be an AUTO - grew to 55" tall - went into week1 of flowering then stunted.
I RAN THIS BITCH 15 weeks before i mulched it ) bullshit plant.

The most important thing with seed stock is age, I've found. Autos are pretty much always garbage, I've grown quite a few and found nothing good (outside Sweet Seeds, those actually blew me away). But if your seeds aren't germinating, they're probably old. I'd stay the hell away from seed companies located overseas, the cargo holds on airplanes get absurdly cold at altitude and that can also damage your beans. Plus European breeders are absolute garbage, that's right I said it.

If you want to try your luck, the hormone that initiates germination is gibberellic acid. You can buy it in crystalline form, you need a tiny, tiny amount in solution to be effective. Some people swear by it, search amazon for gibberellic acid or "GA3". Doesn't work every time, but if your beans aren't cracking, you have nothing to lose.

I have now ordered seeds from Marys Seeds overseas 3 times and have had ever seed germinate and every plant behave as advertised (even the freebies were winners). I may have gotten lucky, but i have been very impressed with their seeds and their stealth/quick delivery, much more than i was with Attitude and Herbies. They even threw in 3 extra freebies for me with just a ? mark on them and the first one (haven't popped other 2) is a beautiful auto that is growing like a dream in my veg area.

On topic I ordered Skywalker OG from DNA genetics from The Attitude once and of the 5 seeds only 2 germed and both were hideous stretchy mutated messes that were not worthy of flowering. I have since grown multiple DNA strains (from marys) and they were all beautiful, so i am blaming the seed dispensary not the genetics for the Skywalker.

Tried a few from Barney's, cos of the hype at the time, all were disappointing, I had a few blue cheese that were nice to smoke, but the yield was shite.

I actually had better luck with freebies - La Fruita de Venus actually ended up as a nice stocky plant with a sweet spice smoke.

But heard if seed sinks like a rock from the start its shit .

I seen similar posts and feedback about barneys ... I sure maybe its a bad / old lot or something but after 2-3 attempts i moved on to others. I ordered some Mephisto and have seen the grows from these and jumped on them.

My exotic genetix gutbusters have been sadly disappointing. One looks like a spider plant. I'm seeing now why I got 5 extra.
