Crappy old school methods. BHO fail thread

So I've been blasting for about 10 some odd years. When I first started blasting, I had no idea what the hell I was doing. My earliest memory of blasting was my freshman year in high school some where around the time of 9/11. Lol we used to use a drill to make a hole in a sharpe and fill the sharpe with shit quality brick weed or beasters and blasted right on top of a pile of buds... then I use to throw kief in the oil/butane mix as it evaporates lol, we literally threw plant material on top of the oil.. And we use to let it sit in the sun for two days before we dabbed it. I think the most awful thing I have done is made home made Thai sticks, I would use 91% rubbing alcohol and let it evaporate then roll the buds around in the oil, lol then tied them using a hemp thread and let it cure for about a month.. I also thought you were suppose to use a ice water bath, lol it would take hours for the butane to evaporate off always resulting in water in the dabs.. I would just pour the water out and let the rest evaporate on a griddle. Then I blasted on parchment paper once to see what happens, lol needless to say it was a fail. I have blasted tubes full of kief also.

I kept hearing everyone talking about fresh frozen, I thought they meant fresh green buds straight off the plant then frozen. Lol the first time I tried there was so much water it shot straight through the filter ruining everything. Before I bought a vacuum pump I use to whip it. One time my brother blasted a bunch in a dish and thought the butane had evaporated off, then he took a lighter to it (to burn off the excess butane) lol and made a mushroom cloud in his kitchen completely melted the window blinds.. lol the crazy stupid stories.

Whats the stupidest thing you have done while blasting?

More stupid shit, once had a buddy use boiling water for a hot water bath then he sprayed on it shattering the dish instantly. We also use to use a mason jar loaded with bud and had three holes on top. The middle hole was to blast in and we would fill the jar with butane the leave it in the freezer for a couple of minutes then strain it through a coffee filter. So basically we had a mason jar full of liquid butane. Ive also accidentally let a tube slip out my hand and dunked the BHO in the water bath, lol resulted in a white powder? It dabbed good just look like cocaine, lol.

I had a buddy who is a full blown retard, he added green food coloring while the butane was evaporating off, resulting in green dabs.. wtf?
Also I used to smoke reclaim. I also use to sell the post-blasted material for 2 dollars a gram as bud light? Lol that is probably the stupidest of all

Lmfao, there is more. Ive used a cigarette lighter from a car to dab off. I had a buddy that used mapp gas to heat his nail and it exploded on him. I have used wax paper before because, I thought that, was what everybody else used. I had a buddy that used 50% rubbing alcohol to make ISO because he couldnt find anything else for dollar general. Just recently I made a 18 gram slab and was holding it up to a light to take a picture and the slab shattered in my hands, falling on the floor that was infested with dog hair, ruined that slab too.

I gave an asthmatic a his of black gooey iso that wasn't purged well.
locked him up pretty good.
I got very cautious after that though.

My biggest problem is not being able to dictate the final consistency of the product.

It took me 10 years to finally get consistently. Lots of fails in between. Any small variable can ruin a run. Dirty tubes, shit ass butane, rainy days, cold temps, hot temps, moisture, screen failure, leaving the heating pad on, for too long and random BS.

That's precisely what it means... How long did you say you've been doing this? 10 years later and still don't know what fresh frozen is... Cool Stories Bro! :/

Lol, I do now. And no its not fresh green material. It means dry with no cure. I guess the bubble bag guys do not even dry. But you have dry the material for BHO

No you don't... In fact the highest terpene preservation comes from freezing immediately and then running after 24 hours... Fresh frozen means chopped and frozen. No dry. Both sides of the fence.

Well it didnt work for me, probably because I used a coffee filter and it blew out on me. A metal screen probably would have worked. I might try again. I would just be worried about the excess moisture.

Yes, as you should be, if you pack it too tight and use butane, with the pressure it could turn into an ice cube weed rocket, potentially, maybe... You need a closed loop system to be able to soak the product for fresh frozen to be efficient ... If you don't have that; then a loose pack. And yes, use a proper mesh screen
