I guess they wanted to see how the Allard trial was going before releasing this....interesting...I don't think it's a coincidence.

Too bad I couldn't find a signing Doctor in the province of Ontario. I guess it helps for the few who can find one but the MAJOR caveat to this is that there may be fewer doctors willing to sign in general if no money is involved. Which makes me EXTREMELY nervous when my letter from Do No Harm is up for renewal come Nov 2015.

I'm scared of having to go back to being turned away from a signature time and time again, I mean I have MS FFS, not like I'm asking for it for some off the wall out there reason.

Ok so now wouldn't a clinic just have to refer someone to a doctor for a fee and then split the fee with the doctor?
there will be a way around it. the Dr's here charge for paperwork for insurance companies. my wife had to have a form filled out for her drivers license and was charged $120 so i believe there will be ways around it so they can still charge

OK...I read the bullshit....

"the College recommends that physicians initiate treatment with a low quantity of dried marijuana19 and prescribe only strains that are low in the psychoactive compound tetrahydrocannabinol (THC).2"
...really?...you know what's best eh?...weak strain and smoke more vs potent and smoke less????...no mention of CBD !

"In order to ensure that the above expectations are met, physicians must specify on every prescription the quantity of dried marijuana to be dispensed to the patient as well as the percentage of THC it must contain."
...if the LPs can't predict the %s how can doctors?...what range of THC?

"Where the initial prescription proves ineffective, physicians may incrementally increase the quantity prescribed and/or substitute strains higher in THC until a dose is reached that achieves symptom management while causing minimal euphoria or cognitive impairment."
...sure, make the patient keep coming back every month!

"The College also recommends that physicians who prescribe dried marijuana first require patients to sign a written treatment agreement"
...sure, because it is so fucking dangerous. Prescribe some more opiods and keep killing patients.

All this time for this weak ass effort?
Convenient timing too, before Smith goes to trial....so you don't have to address concentrates, and juicing!!!
Shame on you, shame on you...

Oh great, now even few people will be able to get a 'prescription' now. Assholes.

Because Conroy is part owner of a pay clinic?

BRILLIANT POST! It sums up exactly what to expect from government meddling as opposed to individual freedom!

What possible effect would this have on Allard?
None.
I believe they were waiting to see how Allard was going, and wanting to release before Smith starts.
They don't want to do anything, and certainly don't want to have to deal with concentrates and juice.
They have been sitting on this release for over a year.
I don't really believe in coincidences.
I'm thinking that if the OCPAS thought the feds were going to hit a home run they would wait till after Allard was over. I think they see the writing on the wall and don't want to have to deal with what the judge might introduce in the near future so they are releasing this already outdated piece of crap now.

I could be way off, dunno.

While paying $400/yr for a prescription was/is BS, for many it is the only way to find a doctor willing to sign. The College has already told their doctors not to sign and by cutting out those few charging a fee, they are further denying access... a great defense for anyone caught possessing / growing without a script. It might be time for a few class actions aimed at provincial college of physicians. While doctors claimed to be 'self employed' , 100% of their income is from tax dollars and the cannot be allowed to hold a segment of the population hostage. I'm not a fan of doctors anyway, and I'm certainly not happy with having to ask one to use a natural medicine to begin with. The fact that I am forced to jump through hoops in order to get pain relief without opiate addiction from pharmaceuticals is insane.

Agreed, it is insane.
Yes, I think you are right....it's time to confront the Colleges!!!!
You hear lots of HC hate here and LP hate here....what about the Colleges???
I really see the Colleges as being the biggest assholes of the lot, yet they are unscathed.

I've written the college in BC on several occasions, one concerning mmj and another about a doctor complaint. They are arrogant assholes! I'd love to knock them down a peg or six.
