set up:
6- 26W=(100W) daylight CFLs
2- 4 inch mini fans
space dimensions: w= 3 ft, d= 2 ft, h= 5ft.
temperature: 75-80F
humidity: 50-60%
soil ph: 6.5-6.75
light cycle: 18/6

Me & my b/f have been growing what looks like a sativa/indica mix and an indica strain for approximately 2 months under cfls. we germinated about 8 seeds and planted 3. we topped our plants at around week 4 or 5 and when we did this we noticed preflowers at the new growth sites & we determined 2 were female and 1 male. We used miracle grow soil which already had nutrients so we did not add any nutrients until just a few days ago. (all- purpose, will switch to bloom when flowering)

the indica plant's branches were extremely tight so we started gently tying down the bottom branches so that they can start growing out horizontally.

we plan to clone at the end of this week & switch to flowering in about 2-2.5 weeks. we have 2 42W(150W) WARM CFLS to add when we begin flowering.

random info: this is our first time growing & we're always excited to see our babies growing. We named them madame kamae & princess peach since we don't know the particular strain.

enjoy the pics & any feedback is welcomed :)

you might wanna replace most of those daylights with warm when you flower too, although thats only if you really really care. otherwise those 2 new warms should do a gr8 job

ugh, i knew i forgot something! they're on an 18/6 light cycle.

-i've read a couple threads/sites that said that usually around 30-40 days preflowers will begin it show. however, i didn't see any preflowers until the plants were topped.

thanks :)

Ok im a newbie lookin to start growin soon im planning on makin a box with a fan and light fixtures for growing and drying
but what is "topped" and how would you do that and why would you start using WARM CFLS when the plant starts flowering (what do the warm CFLS do that the CFL does not for the flowering step)
Thanks

"WHICH TYPE OF COMPACT FLUORESCENT LIGHT TO CHOOSE

For anyone growing cannabis, it is pointless to buy a weak light. Given the option of 8w, 15w and 27w, you would be stupid not to buy the 27watt, as they are more or less the same price. Compare the lumen output of each of the bulbs, different 27w bulbs may have different lumen outputs (depending on the manufacturer) and as with everything, the more lumens the better. You will also be given 2 options, the screw method of fitting, or the bayonet method (push and turn). My preference is the bayonet fitting. Make sure that you choose the right one for your socket! Also, do not choose a regular compact fluoro. Pick the one with the energy saving feature (will be explained why later on in the document). Now, for vegetative growth you should choose the 'cool white' light. This is also acceptable for flowering, but a 'warm white' light will be better as it is stronger in the red end of the light spectrum which is more suitable for flowering. "

there's tons of detailed info already posted on the site, you just gotta search for it. :)

its ok to veg with warm or soft white lights, a daylight (6500k) spectrum just helps to speed things up

thanks! :)
we're going to clip 2-4 clones this weekend and let the ladies recover for a few days & then we're going into flowering mode.

we're also going to buy a couple more bulbs when we get the cloning medium...they're growing so fast!
