could use some advice

ok so ive been working on putting togather a good setup in a tent so here it goes

What im going to be useing
1 400w hps cooltube 6in
1 6in fan/filter combo
grow tent (4ft/2ft/5ft)
2 gallon pots
happy frog organic soil
jamaican guano
mexican guano

strains
bubblegum kushee
pineapple express
la diva (auto)
lil devel (auto)

what i need help with
im trying to figure out how many plants i can put in the tent ive been reading many different posst but none realy say how many would be good for a fent like mine cause everyone els has bigger tents or boxes i know the 400w can suport 4/5 5 being max so im just tryin to findout how many can be set in the tent with the 400w hps

any advise would be greatly apre

advice would be great on anything that im useing on the grow i wont be starting till i have everything so im trying to figure it out now

Work on getting 50w per sq/ft ,so for a 400w its 8 sq/ft. About 8-10 plants vegged to about 18".

Get some earth worm castings. They have all kinds of good stuff in them. Good luck.

I'd bump the light up to a 600, which is optimal for a 4x4 room. Everything else sounds great, good luck!

i would get a bigger light but money is a issue so untill i can get bigger light i gotta go with a 400

2gal pots are too small. If you want dank atleast a 7gal.

I use 1 , 2, 3 & 5 gallon pots.

If you use 2 gallon pots you will be able to put in 8, they will fit.

But if you are just starting out, I would encourage 3 or 5 gallon pots
(so you don't have a root bound problem your first grow)

Just try 4 plants in 5 gallon pots and you can veg them out and grow some nice plants.

I grow in a 4 X 3 X 7 foots enclosure run 400 MH for veg and 600 watt HPS to flower.
I usually grow in 2 or 3 gallon pots, but don't veg them much.
I can put 12 X 2 gallon pots in there.

I am now going perpetual and switching to 25 X 1 gallon pots.

I would at least grow in 3 gallon pots so you don't wast your time with a bad yeild. Cramming as many plants into a space as possible isn't is the best idea either if you plan on growing full sized plants. You'd get a better yield from 3-4 (5 max) plants in that size space. That said, if you go hydroponic and grow clones in 4in rockwool cubes, and grow them about 12-16 inches tall, you could easily fit 100-120 plants in that space. If each plant yields about 3-5 grams, that's like 300-600 grams (10.5 - 21 ounces) of bud under a 400 watt light.

thanks for the help i was thinking of doing sog because of the spsce limit
but useing 3 gal pots woukd prolly be better for me

im planing on keeping 2 mothers in a seperate room so i dont have to go from seed unless i want new strains
they are going to be in 4/5 gallon pots under a 150 hps

While there is no such thing as a 'perfect' soil mix. FF Happy Frog is truly terrific. It has more than enough nutes to give the plants about 3 weeks of food. As a 1st grow, you may want to use the soil and some perlite with no other additives until feeding. Then you have something to go by and learn from on the next grow. I use the Happy Frog myself. I add only perlite and a nute system at about 3-4 weeks. I have no problem with it and grow more than enough great meds for personal use.

There is a ton of great info in the stickies on this forum.

Anyway good luck and +rep for taking the leap into farming.

im curently ongrow one its a bagseed i got under a 150 hps in the end of transition it dowarfed so didnt get big but i got some good seeds from a bank

but im going to add pearlit to the soinl when i put it in the pot i got jamaican and mexican guano as nutes
