Could there be a budget grow thread?

Would a budget grow thread be a good idea?

I apologize if this isn't allowed but I haven't seen a big thread for indoor budget growing, I believe that it would be a very beneficial thread for those of us dealing with jack for money but still have the passion to grow. It would be great to be able to go to a budget grow thread and not feel weird because I have to use banana peels for potassium ect. Ect. (I don't have to this time but last time I did) I've been ridiculed and fed false information because of it. It would be nice to have a safe place to swap super low budget ideas and facts, it could even apply to pure organic growing because if you eat fruit that contains the nutes you need, then you're only spending what you would have anyway. Small space growing and different ways to combine different grow techniques like LST, fimming, and lollipopping to maximize yield in a 3x2 SUPER low budget box. For example, don't judge this is all I had to work with, I've got 3 plants, 2 planted close to the edge so they can share a light and one in the middle because she was weak and needed special attention. My grow space has two 150W CFL in two clamp lights...clamped to a hanger for equal spacing and convenience, the hanger is on a box thing that I rigged up because the plants got too tall before their 4th node. I've got 5 sheet thick white paper taped to the sides of the lights for reflection and a wood board that is lined with the same... The space is roughly 3x2 ft and my girls are growing so fast that I'm having trouble figuring out how to keep them in the space by using LST , lollipopping and fimming. My goal is to line the whole pot top with colas and have it grow parallel to the soil so when I flower, they grow straight up and make a screen of green out of stem. Its really difficult when there aren't really many people doing such a ow budget grow because you can't really get advice and have to figure most things out alone. Again I apologize and let me know and delete this if not allowed but I would just like a place that I can be "ghetto" and find out from other budget growers what has worked for them. Thank you.

@Lucky Luke. Good point ser!
Grow, I've got not money....but I've got a box, fans lights and 3 3 week old plants lol.
I meant stuff like what to use in place of store nutes. Like fruits and such for soil

Well there may be a smarter way than that to get nutrients. Fresh organic matter isnt going to be availible very quickly unless you run it through a blender amd liquify it. But lets say youve got a budget of 20 bucks for the whole grow, i could say spend 13 on a bag of dirt 5 bucks on nutes, an then get a soda at the gas station. A lot of this can done done well really cheaply an even if you have to return cans an bottles to get that 5 bucks for real nutrients its going to be worth it.

Just see if you can find a way to get 5 bucks. Im litterally using a bottle of nutes that cost me 4.99 an its great stuff. 20-20-20, should last me the whole grow. Plants are jumpin out of the pots. Ive got some diff stuff for late flower thats something like 8-20-9.
If you really cant come up with 5 bucks then i dont know how far your going to get in life, because 5 bucks is findable just walking around town with a trashbag and going through public trash an pulling the cans. I had a friend come into a hard spot after a divorse and he had to do that for 2 months to pay rent an he said it was easy to make 1k a month doing it an not a ton of fun, but realistically your only after like 20 bucks. Yes its work but its also pretty easy money if your in a spot where youve got no other way to get a job.

Basically you can get through a grow just about not using any nutrients at all, you can spend a lot of effort trying to do things wrong and end up with avoidable problems like bugs, or you can get some cheapo nutrients. All are ways to do a grow for nearly nothing. But the cheap nutrients are going to really help you come harvest.

I spent like 30 bucks on nutrients the last year an ive pulled a couple lbs.

I personally wouldnt want to use humanure as our diet isnt very good unless the person happens to also be vegan. From what ive read at least.

Not all manure is good to use on plants, chicken poo runs very hot, same with fresh cow poo.
I havent tried the megacrop yet, id like to, but i dont want to even pay the shipping for a unknown. I know.. im a cheap ass. But it looks the same as what i pay 5 bucks for at the nursey. An a big o bag of it thats like 2kg would only run me like 24 bucks i think it is not sure on size... it looks like it would last me several years though.

OP i know its easy to get overwhelmed when you see the pricetag of products marketed at pot growers, an think, fuck it im going do this cheap as fuck an use stuff i can buy at walmart with food stamps. Trust me i been there. About the only thing that path that will be useful is unsulfered mollases. The bananna peels thing is fine, but again youll have to use a blender to liquify it. An youll want to watch your PH. That goes back to what i was saying above about making problems for yourself.

You got any leftover dirt? Im hoping you bought or have something decent? You can always put like a handful of dirt in a gallon jug, shake it up real good, pour it through a coffee filter, and use that water.

Ill def try to help ya finish this out and plan the next one the best way i can. This can be done very cheaply just using products from garden stores thats marketed for veggies an grandmas. Containers for quarters instead of 10 bucks an shit.

I second the megacrop vote. Also, I've heard people do Flora Nova Bloom start to finish.
Vita Grow also makes some pretty affordable dry nutes, you can just get the micro and bloom and do Lucas. It would probably last you a long time.

@growingforfun I've actually got "Lilly miller. Ultragreen" I fed them with that a few days ago and the growth has picked up big time, look healthier too. That was free, but I didn't realize you could do That with the soil, I've got a lot left.
@SSGrower. I actually thought about that but I don't want my plants eating mcdonalds, pizza ect. Lol . ill look into that.
@growingforfun I imagine OP means original poster? I've got pretty much everything now. Nutes, lights, and I'm even getting a more powerful light on a stand so I can have all 3 under one light instead of this jenky 2 to 1 lol
Thank you so much!!! I've been so worried about my girls because they're outgrowing my ghetto box and i might be dealing with spider mites. Treating with rosemary peppermint water in mist form, Treating every day for a week. Just found like 5 garbage flies on my plants yesterday because the temp swung way low and locked out phosphorus. So I turned off the air conditioner for quick warm up instead of setting it on 80.....the flies crawled through the damn thing and got in. Nothing on Google says the harm plants but I'm still not happy with them in there. I've killed 2 but there was another hiding -.- sometimes man it gets to me because I feel like I'm doing everything right, from how I'm doing LST to fimming (clipped one wrong though) but I keep seeing things that worry me. Maybe its just a case of overprotective mothering but i INSPECT I mean I spend 30 minutes almost every day checking them out to make sure I'm not missing some sort of early sign of def. But I see these tan spots and little holes. Tell tale of mites but I think the treatment is helping...just not fast enough -.-
@HitemwiththeHine ill look into that today and see if I can swing it/if its better than this stuff I have.
@ everybody
A fellow grower who started them inside then threw them outside and let them go (gave them frequent nutes) and they got huge. But they never got good sized buds, so they're giving me everything I need so I can show them what it looks like when done properly. They love the plant, don't smoke but they like looking at it. I've grown successfully like two or three times and every time I had to fix a def. I would use fruits and such. It worked fine, I put chunks of banana peel in the soil and they ended up getting a bit too much but I didn't have to liquid it. I caught the def. Early enough that the roots had enough time to sink into the peel. That was when I was 16....so....literally no money then lol other than like 10 bucks for everything. Only had one grow light, put the others in front of the window and they were fine...must have gotten a good amount of stuff from the tap water eh? Need tape so I can make a bigger box....the one I have is like 3x1 and the one I'm trying to fix up is about 5x4 so, yeah haha now I just need tape.

This is more along the lines of what I was thinking but was too lazy to type it out. OP you should thank gff for reading through my sarcassim and providing some solid concise info. Most manures if properly aged and composted can be used, even human, but there is a whole set of variables there to ensure a safe product due to potential for harmful pathogens.

Time is your substitute for money, so make time and you have money. If plants are growing now not much you can do cause you pretty much out of time for the free options.

Did I forget to put it in? Had a lot to say so @growingforfun my apologies, I absolutely intended to thank you for the info. I've never had someone be straight out like that on one of these so I appreciate it. *looks at my post* wow I really did forget. I'm sorry sir. Really though I can't thank you enough, same goes for the others. But I truly appreciate (to quote ss) your concise info. He'll of a lot easier to understand you than the Google searches.

I've been trying to find fellow growers to talk with, not come to all the time for questions but just regular speaking/idea swapping. May I add everyone? I think I'm not at the skill level I want to because of the limited jobs (cars transmission died) -.- soon though ill have transportation but I'm working on a new box, a problem with this is that I need to hang my lights somewhere and I have to either make a new hole or hang it from the fan.

I thought I posted this reply -.-
So, I made up a new box, its about 5x4x5
So I'm working on getting them properly bushy...I've been LSTing for a while and the lower nodes have started to grow quite fast. Do they produce good buds too or do they just produce popcorn?

I use mushroom compost for a good 1/3 of my soil mixes. It is 15 bucks for a bobcat scoop. Should be aged a year of possible, but really rich compost.

Also use pee for veg food. For a common western diet, human pee is 11-2-1. Been using it for years.

I have made some ferts with pee and wood ash too, but have only done that in the last year. I've used it on some peach trees with no ill effects, but haven't tried it on my herb yet.

{only good for outdoor growers, but. . . .} After the summer season, kiddie pools are on sale at Walmart for 5 bucks. It makes a great 45-50 gallon pot.

I always just put new holes in the ceiling an dont worry about it. In one of the places i rented there had to be close to 50 or more holes in the ceiling because id use 8 lights so 2 holes per light and id adjust for better coverage every few runs. Just know youll be getting some spackle an fillin holes when you leave. Shits only like 10 ish bucks.

@too larry I've actually read about that but I'm just going to use the nutes I got. I may try that with a future plant.
@growingforfun lol that's awesome. I'm just using clamp lights so I have to jerry rig what I can inside my box. I'm growing in my bedroom so I needed to make a grow box for not only pest control and great airflow, but also because its a bitch to sleep with two 150W CFL'S on lol.
Google searches don't tell me if the lower branches (under the main cola) would produce decently with defoliation at start of flower, do you know? One of my plants is basically becoming a wall of leaves because of the way i've bent her, its kind of cool but I'm more worried about yield and potency, ya know?
