does anybody else have anymore information on this, i think it would be awesome to cook up some indoor tomatoes. would they like 18/6 lighting?
1. Order greenhouse tomato seeds from Johny Select Seeds or other good seed Co. Outdoor tomato varieties will not do well indoors unless they are small fruited "patio" varieties. Trust F1 is a fine robust variety. They are expensive seed but so is genetically superior cannabis.
2. The plant must be stopped (not topped) after one, two or three flower trusses have set fruit. Indeterminate tomato plants will continue to vine indefinitely as it is a perennial although grown as an annual.
3. All suckers or side shoots need to be snapped off to concentrate plant assimilates to the developing fruit. Heavily fed tomato plants indoors will attempt to veg from every place possible. Watch for new shoots growing from the middle of leaves and eliminate or clone.
4. Metal Halide is preferable to HPS with tomatoes as there are few flowers needed to mature fruit and MH will keep the plant stout and thick. HPS is effective if your plants will have access to some natural light if not stick to MH.
5. I have had huge success with GH 3 part following their Keep It Simple schedule and menu as if it were cannabis. If growing win Coco with RO water must dose the plants with Botanicare CalMag to avoid deficiency in these nutrients VITAL to tomato fruit development. If not be prepared for blossom end rot.
6. Be prepared and ready for white flies and other pesks. They will find your tomato garden and by association your ganja. Use yellow stick pads to monitor and use safer soap sprays. You will gain new appreciation for cannabis' disease and pest resistance after one crop of tomatoes. You've been warned. LOL
7. In hydro, choose a system and watering system that provides consistent moisture especially during later stages of fruit development. If not you will experience fruit cracking which occurs anytime there is a sudden influx of water after a dry period on a plant with mature fruit.
