The above Type Numbers represent the order groups which include only a few brightness groups (see page 10for explanation). Only one group will be shipped on each reel (there will be no mixing of two groups on each reel). E.g.LCW CQ7P.CC-JUKQ-5U8X-1means that only one group JU, KP or KQ will be shippable for any one reel.
In order to ensure availability, single brightness groups will not be orderable.
In a similar manner for colors where chromaticity coordinate groups are measured and binned, single chromaticity coordinate groups will be shipped on any one reel. E.g. LCW CQ7P.CC-JUKQ-5U8X-1 means that only 1 chromaticity coordinate group -5U to -8X will be shippable (see page 6 for explanation).

At least speaking for Oslons ...
Do not know about Crees ....

For Oslons ,there's no way ,that one can order single brightness,chromaticity & Vf bins ...
So ..
One is obligated to buy what the market has to offer .....

And it is kinda difficult to know the exact bin ,of the purchased leds ....

For Oslons only the range of groups (bins) is known .....


Maybe same situation ,goes with Cree leds ,also .....

Those are the generic part numbers. Most likely he doesn't know the actual bins and that is the way they were sold to him.

Looking at that panel it is dissipating 56 watts with insufficient cooling....
nice trick here, at 56 watt we will have no light from the panel, only heat. Where is your efficiency calculation?

Good catch thnx guod. I am so used to being frustrated by ambiguous part numbers this is a refreshing surprise. I love having data to work with so props to Hans panel for that!

The XPE N3 bin is 32.5% (700mA 50c).
The XTE royal blue is 42.4% (700mA 50c).
The 660 Rebel ES is 33% (700mA 50c).

When I said dissipating 56 watts I was referring to total string dissipation (photons as well as heat). Now knowing the bins we can calculate the heat but the reason I said insufficient cooling is simply because of the lack of surface area. Unless I am misunderstanding the design, no cooling fins on a small 56 watt panel is a recipe for very hot. I estimate 20 watts of photons, 36 watts of heat for the thermal path.

Assuming it is a high quality driver it is only creating about the 6 watts of heat but of course it should always be remote.
