Cooling a sealed room, what type of ac? .... Please help!

So my room is 10 x 12 spare bedroom in my house.

I wanted to try co2 enrichment, so i bought all the stuff (tank, regulator, controller etc).

Im running 4 1k lights, and have been cooling the room with a haier commercial cool 11,500 btu ac. It cools the room great! , but when i filled up the tank for the first time, it was empty in 2 days.

My ac is the type that has only one main hose that exhaust the hot air out of my window, so i assume the ac unit pulling out the hot air is what killed my co2 so fast.

So my question is , what type of ac can i use that wont exhaust all of my co2, as far as i know, every ac has an air exchange to the outside????

Please help!!!

window units just recycle the air not exchange it, or the do make 2 hose units, or go Mcgiver and attach your own hose whever yours is sucking from

good luck

I know what the split system is, what's a water cooler?
run a chiller on a res with hoses to your room. install heat exchangers in the room.
It really wouldn't have to be an hydro innovations ice box ( they're a little pricey for what they are) if you're good with diy a simple automobile transmission cooler would be much cheaper. Although the ice box comes ready to hook up and has a drain hole in the right place but what it amounts to is a 30 dollar coil with an expensive plastic housing. Takes a pretty large chiller to cool a room . I've got a 1/2 horse and can't keep my 1.5 kw room and minigen chilled for a 12 hour cycle.

With water cooling, you're still going to have a huge device expelling heat inside of your grow area/building. A mini split keeps the condenser outside, preventing any buildup of excess heat.

I got a top of the line Daiken 18k btu minisplit dc invertor 18seer for $2000 installed. Best grow investment I've ever made.

Definitely go with a mini split, I have a 24k that keeps my flower room cool with 6 1k vented raptors. I first purchased a dual line portable air unit (back when I ran 6 600's in adjust-a-wings) and it could barely cool it and my co2 tank was also empty in 2 days, got over 10 days after installing mini split. I was told the dual would not exchange air but apparently it did as I could smell it outside and the tank was wasted away. :)

Ductless mini split.

You need 4000 btu/hr per unventilated 1kW light. 3000 if vented reflector.

One ton is 12000 btu/hr

Are you absolutely certain that the ac you have vents air from the room to the outside?

What model ac do you have.

Most AC = Air Conditioner means exactly that. Window mounted ACs usually pull air from the inside and pass it threw a condenser that cools the air and pushes it back into the room. the exterior of the ac unites are used to vent the heat that the ac makes during this process.

Not all ACs do this but most window units are designed this way. Otherwise it ends up fighting itself.

There are some units out there though that can be used to heat a room as well.

An example of this would not be window mounted but ones you see in a lot of RVs. They are mounted on the ceiling but can be reversed to produce hot air instead of condition (cool) the air. Pretty much switches its venting to cool or to heat.

OH and SmapsProvolone. I love the sig.

A co2 tank will be hard to run a room that size esp w 4 1000ks in it you need a mini split. My room 7wx12lx9h and I have a 11000 btu ideal air mini split( I hate it it sucks auto restart dont work it likes to leak etx). Bigger is better for ac and a co2 generator and sniffer your waste alot of money with co2 tanks I use 2 propane tanks for a full grow veg to harvest. And propane were I live is 22 dollars for 20lb cylinder and no I dont use co2 during veg except a week or so before I flip then to let then get use to co2 enrichment.
