cool tube buy help

There is the prob. don't suck air from outside room through cool tub. you need to move air inside too.Just disconnect duct that is pulling air into tent. It will pull air from inside tent to filter.filter fan outside ducting on end that sucks to cool tube. leave other end with out duct open vent on far side of tent.

had to read a few times to paint the picture now i understand what you are saying bro and i will put it to this setup u stated and we can only find out thanks for info i tryed before with a makeshift reducer to my 4in 100cfm and it was way to hot so now i got the right fan and ill aim it in the right direction of the tube and ill let u know how this works out thanks again

I rigged a reducer with the poly end cap that comes with the cool tube (Cushioning that looks like Styrofoam). had an extra 4 inch fan,the 6 inch died after 12 years.I just used the end of the fan to mark it slid in the duct cut out the 4 inch hole. slid over fan, that was 6 months ag.

ok got ur suggested setup going testing will begin soon as the girls are awake

@Igotthe6 so i tried your method and it just seems to stay at the same temp even with the fan on 240 on full blast im not to sure were im going wrong im taking up alot of space with big fans to push air around and the plants are sitting 1-2 feet away..note cheap can fans dont fit onto cheap cool tube might need some tin snips to make relief cuts on the tip on the can fan to allow it to bend out a lil and accept onto it but for now i have a short amout of ducting on it..second note is that this tent really small and the can fan is huge and its close to the wall of the tent so the bulb can be centered

@miketaco hey man I have ordered a 600w HPS dimmable digital system for my 5'x2'x5' so hopefully I won't have heat issues too but I'll keep you updated. It will come in the mail soon

Ok, big problem. They are junk. They are booster fans. any sort of air restriction and your airflow is nonexistent. This is a can fan. http://www.roguehydro.com/can-fan-s...roductsearch&gclid=CIq5sp35ncoCFYIaHwodEMoEjg You need a good fan with hps or it's a waste. $50 from a guy they call lowballer on ebay for a 4 inch.Should be plenty
i think thats who i bought my cheap booster fans from no lie lol was only 23$ :P

note to self everyone this guy is right i dont have any air restrictions it couldn't be any more simpler of a setup in and out on full blast still aint worth it so now ill get one of thoes soon..

but i gotta say for any cfl light the fans are great for small cheap grow closets tho my 100cfm was like 13$ and 2 years old still kickin but just cant keep the temps down still 79-83 ill just deal with it for now thanks

see i tried the angle of the fan up and out off of the reflector into the exhaust can and it still was 87 degrees so this my only hope i found a hood with removable glass for lil more

but will have to wait on fan later
lol i tried this too... i just ordered a cooltube however i have an a/c installed in my room so my temps arent really that bad....all depends on if i have the heat on in my house but if i do i still hit 80

lol same thing here bro depends on my house really since thats were my air is coming from but even if i heat up the house it maxs out at 83
yes that the guy i was about to buy that one but thought the booster cans was just as good but now i know shame on me :P also all my booster cans are ven tech they seem to work fine for me but i question how cheap i payed for em for long term durability

@miketaco you really need a 440cfm 6" fan for your system. A 240 simply will not work, trust me, I've tried. I use a 240 on my tiny tent w/ a T5. I do run 3x 600w cool tubes in my 4x8 tent w/a 440 cfm fan hooked up to a carbon filter with 3 fans inside the tent itself. It keeps it with 1-5 degrees of the temp on the outside of the tent. room temp 71-74, tent temp 74-78... You can get a 440 cfm fan for like $60. I can guarantee this will keep temps within a couple degrees of the room the tent is within.

how loud are these beast going to sound xD

yep I have a 600 hps cooltube with a 440 cfm ventech inline and keeps the temps rite in a 5x5 tent with 3 clip fans running inside the tent

they are not very loud. I have a ventech and an ipower. Both work great, been on 24/7 for a few months now. I ran the ventech non stop for over a year. I have them both on speed controllers, but I run them at max.
ipower hoked up to my carbon filter. I run: filter > fan > lights > exhaust out window. Little tip, if you connect your fan to your filter like this, it's a good idea to run a screw or 4 through holding the fan to the filter securely. If they separate, they can fall and break branches. Happened to me a few times before I got smart about it.

That ducting on the right is just an intake from my small 2x4 tent. I exhaust from my small tent, into the big tent to help scrub any odors. Filter and fan on the other side of the lights, fits well.

What works even better for about $12 are the anti vibration clamps with the neoprene. I can't recall what they are called. They have the added bonus of dampening any vibration.
