Hello
im wishing to confront my father whos is generally liberal but has a strong feeling that smoking pot will make me fail and a nobody, i want to grow and i have printed off many websites faqs about weed, i just don't really think thats he's mind is going to change i would have no plans on smoking before or in the school week; i would never grow more than enough and just want it to chill out, what can i say to my parents to help the understand weed is all good ?

Good luck mate...they probably wont change their mind...mine didnt and trust me I tried. Just gotta wait it out till you get your own place...then you can grow and smoke all you like.

First of all, for parents it's all about grades. Do you have good grades? If you do, are you already toking? If so, what's all the fuss about M&D?

Set up a parent/child contract. You want to grow and you want to grow safe plants. You want to take control and make sure you are smoking something SAFE! Parents want their kids to be safe. Make a deal...if your grades drop, the grow goes the way of the garbage.....

have mood swings espcially my dad

it is a tough one, i get the same kind of hassle from my da and i usually tell him it's less unhealthy than alcohol, and if it's alright for him and my ma to have a bottle of wine on the weekend then it should be alright for me to have a smoke. you could also say that if you grew it yourself you could be sure about what you were smoking, not buying it off some dodgy guy on the street, you wouldn't be putting money into the black market that way.
if he brings up the arguments re psychosis you could cite that it is demonstrably only the hybrid indica/sativa crosses which have long term negative effects on the brain. tell him if you were growing you could be sure to only grow pure sativa/pure indica, so these risks would be diminished if not entirely removed. even if you don't really plan to (how's he going to know?)
i wouldn't advise embarking on a grow op in his house without his permission though, it's just asking for trouble and it'd be a bit disrespectful. imagine if he found them how much trouble you'd probably get, not to mentiont the heartbreak of losing your babies mid-grow.

kids like me? mate; you have no idea on what any kid can achieve presuming i'm some immature tag along the typical cliche of teenagers thats fine cos I'm not, actually i am pretty smart and athletic, play regional rugby and have mature friends. But i have read alot of threads similair to mine acept the all seem uneducated in growing itself.

The resouloution came down too comparing the nsw department of medicine 70pg report and convinced my dad that even pshycotic instances realated too marjiuana are more likely, my grandfathers brother had skitzophreina therefore i'm more likely to become a victim of that, but even the government admits that this is only for heavy users, by that statement they mean as in people who get 'baked' every single day where as i would get high once a fortnight at most. After discussing all the documentations i have convinced my Dad that Marjuana is alot safer than he thought which i am happy about and he has told me i can smoke as much as i like out of the house(because of my mum and brother) also he has told me that i can grow at home when i'm 18.

So in a way i have one and loss, sure i'm not going to grow but at least i know i can when i'm 18 for sure :)
