What nutrients are you using???? If you are not feeding your babies they won't grow big and strong. I personally use a bubbleponic/hydroponic top drip system.you can build one of these for around $60.00 .All suplies from Wal-Mart and home depot.....except net cups and silica grow rocks you have to get these from a hydro shop...If you have the cash to spend this is the way to go&gro......It only takes about 1 hour to have this set up and ready to grow.I can give you the details If you are intrested.......just let me know. as far as lights go you can get 4 150w equivilent 40w full spectrum cfl's at wal-mart for about $8.00 each.I use these along with two 2 foot shop lights with one gro bulb and one full spec bulb in each.this setup works great....just something to think about....hope you can use the info bro..........

This is the exact setup I got.You don't have to fiddle with wiring, or any crap like that, this is an easy option if you're confused about lights. They have smaller systems too.http://www.htgsupply.com/viewproduct.asp?productID=47981
i cant pay $150 atm. (i am VERY poor, i got laid off a month ago). cant afford the dealers anymore, hence im growing my own.

im living off of $500 a month or less, all the power i use in my apartment now is for my operation and the computer, i dont even turn on the tv. so im not kidding when i say money is tight =/.

if cfl's can get me a good amount of yield on compact plants, i wanna learn that route.

im asking a friend to order 1 pint each of GH floramicro and florabloom for me and i pay him the costs.

i am interested. i do want some decent quality in a build i can use over and over, but still on a budget. how much to net cups cost? are they what i base my hole sizes off of? and does the size of the cup matter? silica grow rocks?? will marbles do the same?

The cups are only .40 cents each and most hydro shops will sell just the amount of silica grow rocks that you need instead of having to buy the whole bag. they are pretty cheap and the silica content is good for your gro system. As far as cup size goes I use 3-3/4 inch cups this is all that you will need.

didn't read it all but in response to the answer to the question i asked( how much light) Well theirs your problem all those little plants under a few little lights, hydro dnt grow without light either. dnt even consider hydro til you got at least 5000 lumens psf. this prolly already has been addressed but i havnt read it yet i just woke up, hydro is a way of optimising your grow. if your room conditions don't suport soil it will not help to go hydro and i dnt see how hydro is gonna take up less space???
