I can see your roots are rotten, mine I think maybe were OK.

I've rebuild my setup so I'll go again, so many possible faults before but I've removed them for this next run. Plus I'll be using hydroguard.

Lol. That does sound HELLA sketch. The legal indoor game has other shit to give you grey hairs. Tons of permits and a staggering amount of permits and tracking systems (so the weed doesn't end up on a runway in texas). The biggest stress is actually selling it. There are sooooo many growers in oregon, it's pretty stupid.

Many a sleepless night thinking... should we expand? Can I sell 130 pounds of weed a month?

I guess we will see, hard work and a little financial risk have paid off so far and this opportunity is getting smaller and smaller and smaller.

My understanding is that brewing tea is just a way to increase the amounts. Is this true, honestly I found for the small quantities I used it was a pain in the ass. Are there other benefits to tea other than more beanies

There are threads everywhere about how to brew tea. Just use a 5 gallon bucket to brew. It is not about having MORE bacteria as they will NOT breed in an aqueous environment, it is about having greater diversity of species instead of just 2 or 3 (hydro guard).

Go to the og biowar website. Buy a bag of root pack and follow their directions for making tea. Enter the code "farmer" for a big discount. Like 33%.

Chiller and tea... no headaches.

"Due to the fact the bacterial cultures start to replicate within 4-8 hours of application, and the fungi cultures will take 12-72 hours to germinate, a great way to apply the ROOT PACK and/or FOLIAR PACK is to brew a compost tea. This will allow some of the species to multiply, and can offer you more bang for your buck when using the product line."

Sorry for the confusion, yes the bacteria will multiple but not the fungi. They basically just need time to.come out of stasis. He used the word germinate.. but that actually isn't accurate.

Look dude. Tystk and I do this shit for a living. And I'm not taking oh wow.. 10k watts. We are talking $150k + commercial build outs. My overhead is 20k a month so when she goes wrong.. it HURTS. It hurts REAL bad.

I currently have 96 5' tall plants, 55 2' plants and 55 small plants in DWC.

1. We never ever never let the water get above 67, ever. Typically it's 63-65.

2. We add 5 gallons of beneficial tea to our 200 gallon reservoirs twice a week.

3. We never use any kind of coco or dirt or whatever... it ALL has bugs in it.

4. New airstones every round. Yes, we buy 50 air stones a month

I have not seen root rot in about a year.

Why change air stones? I never use them but have been looking at the larger disk ones with the rubber membrane that is looking real promising from a blockage problem. But is there other reasons? I also thought tty never used them and used waterfall for aeration, perhaps again I'm confused.

Everyone is different. I see no need for them but others like how they stir the water under the roots- even if they don't know that's all they're accomplishing.

I found that my ph fluctuated more and just more shit to deal with. My water fall and fountain effect in the flooded zone setups did fine with out them but not saying not to use them just curious why the need to change them up.

Ummm one of us had a $250 disolved oxygen meter at the warehouse and one does not...

So which one you think is more informed about o2 levels and air stones.

So tty are you saying that air stones do not add DO to the water? I would think that it is pretty much proven that they do or there would be a lot of dead plants in bublble buckets. Not to mention the 20,000 trout fingerlings that were dead when they got to my boat ramp because the compressor quit on route. It was a sad sight to see all them dead little fish all because of lack of DO. But I do think waterfall and fountain effect work well too, if done properl.

Of course they add oxygenation. What I'm questioning is whether they provide better saturation levels than waterfalls. It isn't hard to fully saturate water with disolved oxygen.

That's why I asked legally flying to provide some specifics regarding his findings with his DO meter.

Airstones or waterfalls, take your pick...roots get waaaayy more oxygen being exposed to air @ 20% oxygen. So the moral of the story is always have an air gap under the netpot.
