That is awesome thank you for all the help, the negative PR is my main concern is why I was liking a moderate size group anything bigger and your allowing the mob to dictate your image and backwards is not where the movement needs to go. So I figure if we can successfully pull it off tidy and neat Next year we can go big with a lot less negative effects looming over us, this ensure as much positive energy before legalization bill gets written. I think what you heard about bill was a bill to work on a that bill so we could still be like 4 years out.

The group size I was hoping for was like 4 participants for every catigorie and a few plus ones then I would be finacialy cappable to finacance the whole thing with door monies only going to food and drinks, one store sponser to help me out and meet me half way on prizes.

I will be happy with a 20-40 head count cause in my mind those people will turn into 200 next year and it will be much more streamlined, and the movement grows :)

I'm wondering if there are any establishments left that legally allow smoking indoors. I remember back when the RI smoking ban was passed the State exempted Twin River and Newport Grand and some other places like private clubs, Legion halls, FOP lodges etc. They were calling it a "Class D exemption" at the time for the clubs but I'm not sure if that provision was set to expire after a few years. If this is a problem we would have to find an outdoor venue.

I was also curious about the integrity of the judging. George Carlin once said "Don't smoke when you're already stoned. You won't get any higher, your sack will only get smaller." The same applies to beverage tasting events. If you taste enough eventually you become intoxicated and your palate gets worn out so you can't objectively judge anything after a certain point.

But I'm brand new at all this and have never been to a cannabis competition, only learned about them through the media and I don't know how the judging works.

Yes my current venue pool has been targeting hooka restaurants, oh and my palate doesn't get worn out lol and if you smoke something stronger you will get higher lol

Just came across this thread and it sounds awesome. I wonder how many of you guys here I know outside of this board, I have lived in RI my whole life. I am totally down if this event can possibly take way. Got some awesome stuff I have been working on and would love to show off my works! I will keep an eye on this thread and hope that things actually happen with this mini RI cana cup.

Read this thread and PM the Cup Coordinator (TheGreenery). I can't wait for this event. Gives us all something to look forward to and also because when it kicks off, WINTER WILL BE OVER!!!

Awesome Idea! RI deserves it! There are a lot of good genetics being grown in this small state!! Also there should be a category for Concentrates!!! Lots of real nice oil being produced lately! Also I would really like to see everything impurity and potency tested. Although I do believe that test results shouldn;t automatically make a strain a winner. All things should be considered and that just be one. Maybe Know Your Grow could sponsor an event like this or provide potency testing. That would be SICK!

I've been here takin in all the bullshit on this ri patient page for way to long now as it is, this has to qualify for the worst place to get any legit info out there in RI.
So with that being more than obvious to anyone that reads this garbage, i have to say, not once in the last 30 years has a grower or strain stood out in cup quality in the state of RI...so i ask you, what do you wanna bees and legend's in your own minds think you could possibly prove to the medical community with a r.i. cup? Are you really that fuckin nieve to think you actually grow dope good enough to win a real cup? well...as previously stated, it's fuckin laughable at best!
This bullshit has nothing to do with taking care of or helping patients and you idiots prove it!

Btw, this guy who comes in rhode island all the time and takes care of plants over here ran in a cup and won so clearly rhode island has something to give... just because those people are not on here doesnt mean rhode island sucks. You must just be pissed at life to be dumb enough to think the members on hereare posting as behalf of the community... its a forum, we post on here to just ask question ect... i dont think anyone posts an says "if your from rhode island things need to be done this way and you NEED to read the posts from our section"

Get over yourself bro. Being here isnt manditory or an obligation so just move on. Also, if you do feel we are influencing the community with our posts then your sure as hell not doing any good either.
