Hello RIU. Im about to purchase the last ingredients and begin 'cooking' my soil. My question is does the container have to be black and does it have to be a garbage can??? Can i use a rubbermaid or something along those lines. Peace and thanx.

it not picky, as long as it has air, infact typically i like to either age in the final pots they are gonna be in or age the soil on a tarp.
But BOTH ways i like to plant a cover crop of legumes in it, it's the easiest way to see when the soil is "ready" you'll see the legumes explode in green growth.
When it's time to plant you can either cut the legumes down for green-manure or keep them alive, the legumes attract more nitrogen than they use so why not?
It's also a good way to stay on top of your soil moisture too, sometimes when you freshly transplant, the soil retains too much water at first because the roots aren't developed yet, so the legumes cuts that part out, and establishes a firm solid soilweb before you even introduce you cannabis plant, and keeps the soil at a nice moisture level.
Not to mention its a bit easier to move smartpots when they have some roots holding things together.
