Constant nute burn @ Low EC

This is why i start in trays with domes and a seedling mat, pro mix and some myco, 48 hrs they pop. Then they stay for 5 days and go into .5 gal pots 2/3 promix organik 1/3 coco, myco, bokashi, worm castings. Done. Water with tap water for 2-3 weeks no nutes, tds, ec, ph. Fuck it all just confuses newer growers when you dont need any of it lol.
Sounds good,

If you grow in dirt!

Hey guys. So I'm doing my second grow now and there's something odd occurring, that happened last grow too. My plants seem to be getting nute burn at low PPM's. They're currently 10 days old @ 220 ppm. The tap water is 120 ppm so that's 100ppm of nutes (~1/4 strength). The same thing happened during my last grow. The plants ended up being okay though but it's still quite worrying. The EC also seems to gradually rise, along with the pH, instead of dropping up until much later in vegetative growth. It might not seem bad but I'm a perfectionist and I want things to run 100% smoothly. I am growing hydro for that reason - to be able to modulate and regulate my environment to produce perfect crop.

My specifications are as follows:
10 gallon res
6 plants per res (AK47 from RQS)
2 80mm air stones
Air pump (35gal/min)
pH'd @ 5.6 (swings about 0.15 every day)
Ambient temps during day : 77-83F
Res temps : 68-70F
Humidity : 45-65%
Nutrients used : Greenhouse Feeding (N-P-K-Mg: 24+6+12+(1.2))

In the photos below you should be able to see the slightly burnt tips as well as some odd deformities. Some input would be greatly appreciated.

I wouldn't be giving them anything but PH'd water and something to keep ur water clean until those suckers yellow. That how I did it.
Also, isn't that a lot of nitrogen? You really shouldn't be having nute problems this early. Maybe your just giving them too much too soon.
Check out some Reflectix IR Wrap for your res. Its like stiff shiny bubble wrap.

I think I want to swap nutes. I suspect that it is in fact the high Nitrogen ratio in the current nutrients that I'm using. Is it acceptable and safe to swap nutrients during a grow or is it too late? I'm thinking of switching to the Flora Trio.

If what your doing now isn't working it is haha...
Once your suckers start yellowing, give them flora trio @ 100ppm and use equal ratios until you get to your transition to flower. Trio got me to where I am now.
Don't sweat your res temps too much, just as long as your running something to keep your water clean and its staying clean. I like Hydroguard. Cover that black tote up with something for sure though.

So switching nutes is gucci? It won't somehow confuse my plants and ruin them?
Also, should I maybe flush for a whole day/night before I add the new nutes?

Gucci.
Flush for sure to get the old stuff out.
Nah.
I think all the plant is going to be concerned with is the change in ratios but I can bet that only applies to sticking with lines of salt-based hydro nutes but don't quote me on that.

I would make sure your rockwool is drying out. Sorry to say it again. If it's not drying out already and then you flush it with three times the water, doesn't sound good.

I didn't mean that I'd be flushing the rockwool. I just swapped out both totes with pH balanced water (no nutes) and I'm running it that way for 24 hours before switching to Flora Trio :-D The rockwool stays pretty dry. There's a 1-2 inch layer of hydroton underneath it so there's at least 3-4 inches between the rockwool and the water level.

Awesome! Not sure why but I had 2" or air and 2" of hydroton and it would never dry out. Must have something to do with humidity or something?

You should really try with no rockwool next time so you can get a comparison. It might be better or it might be worse but it's better to know.

Yeah sorry by flush I just meant clean the old nute water out. Don't water the rockwool lol.
I have never used the stuff so I dunno much about it.

The Flora Trio might not be perfect but I was able to use it with success for my first grow. I think you will like it.

So it looks like theyve recovered from the nute burn. Im running 500 ppm of 1-1-1 gh flora but noticed something new and peculiar. I also had this problem with my last grow but it occurred much later into flowering. At first I thought it could be calcium deficiency but it seems unlikely since my tap water is quite hard (120 ppm). I’m not sure what to think at all. I was hoping someone with an extensive knowledge of plant sicknesses and symptoms could take a look and offer a potential diagnosis. I’m referring to the light yellow patches with the randomly scattered brown spots. Also, the leaf curl which couldn’t be due to heat stress since my lights are at a good distance (around 18 inches) and I’m running an aircooled hood.

Following because I had the same issue in my grow

Calmag bruh. You might have 120ppm or whatever but how much of that is actually cal and mg? Not sodium or chlorine or carbonates?
I would pretend that 120 does not exist when you mix your nutes. Think of it as dead, wasted space.
Add Calmag to get your 120 to 200 for now. Then add your nutes to get your 500.
Its one of the downfalls of tap, one of the reasons why people use RO.
Cal is gonna show as spots in new growth, and Mg will show as a yellowing between the margins. A striped yellowing.

Okay, it's gotten worse my dudes. Do you still reckon it's a cal/mag deficiency? Or could this possibly indicate leaf septoria (a problem I've never encountered before)?

Nah its not fungus your just doing something wrong.
Just try the calmag for a week.
Does this look similar to what you get late in flower?

Also, looking back on my journal...I was running like 80tap + 200 nutes maybe...where you are at now. Twice the size of yours and I was still only running 250. It does not take much in dwc when you are pumping a ton of air in.
Full flower monster nugs...I ran 600 and that was pushing it.
Just FYI
Too much too soon is what I am trying to say I guess.

I forgot to mention that I do a res change VERY often. Like every 3rd day so I never really give the pH a chance to swing over 5.8-5.9. It's always around 5.4-5.8. Could that promote improper uptake of essential nutrients like calcium or magnesium?

It was more like this :
