Consequences of light leak when flowering 12/12?

Well, from what I can tell it's the same color spectrum, it's just weaker. If you're going to tell me the light spectrum is different, that's cool, I'd just like to know how.

I'm trying to establish why, given that information, we fear a 'pin-prick' when a field of weed can grow under a full moon and I could drive my car through that field at night, with spotlights on, with no apparent harm.

Or at least how long it takes, how much light, size of light source, type of light, from peoples first hand experiences.

The one so far, posted above, is far from a pin-prick
I'm dealing with this kind of problem right now, and assessing the damage. I simply removed the stupid extra light I put into my grow, and I'll watch very carefully over the next week. I'm thinking of an early harvest to keep the girls pristine. I already posted that, but since you want to see the size of my "pin-prick" (no, it's not a dick pick)...

I don't want to get off thread, but I wanted to see what those cheap led lights from ebay were like, so I bought 5-6 of them. 3 were D.O.A, one has since died, and one damaged my grow. Nice.

It should be ok just switch to 10/14 for a week and then carry on as normal. This might have caused some stress but minimal imo and hope it all goes well :-)

Yes. I added a smaller led spot-light just to fill in what I perceived to be an area of low light, and set it for the same 12/12 as everything else. At some point, that timer failed, and that single led light remained on 24/7 for what I suspect was a week. (It was a small led, about 20W.) My initial observation is that the half of the plants that were closest to that problem light are growing new bud MUCH slower than the other half. They could be reverting to veg, but I'd be surprised if it's irreversible.

So... I came here to see what to expect...

I certainly don't see any hermaphrodites, but I'll watch.

You got it right..

Pin prick light and all that other shit be damned. Herming is a genetic expression. It can be from many different stress sources. Light leaks, not so much.

Outdoor plant
Exposed to powerful night light
20 ft away by distance from light (including height)
The half the plant on the light side ran about 10 days to 2 weeks behind the side of the plant shaded from the light.
NO bisexual expression (did not herm)

Back in the day when I was doing outdoor grows there were always lots of left over potted females in my greenhouse that didn't make it into holes.

I would just throw I large 6 mil piece of black plastic over the greenhouse for light deprivation and forced early flowering. Even though the greenhouse leaked light like a sieve I never had a hermie or reveg problem.

Ive about 20 pinpricks that you can clearly see light coming out lights on. Its made not one jot of difference to the growth or finishing of the plants. The zip was pulled taught wen i fell over in tent, and it stretched the stitching. Even that has made no difference. The tent is in a dark room but sometimes door to room is open at night. I will get round to repairing or covering the areas (large) where light is visible on tent, but Im clueless about what to use. I think the pinprick panic is overdone, unless some strains are more prone to negative reactions. The leaks are well above the height of plants. I need to take plants out and stand in tent with room light on to see true light ingress to tent. But ime, a few pinpricks on tent, as long as tent is kept in mostly darkness, or dim light levels, has had no negative effects. Just my two cents.

Thanks...I surely will. Planning on running lights during daylight hours and watering right before the lights go out I suppose.
Never water before lights off. Always make sure your plants getting at least 5-6 hours of light when you water or you can run into issues

Good advice on the watering. Follow it.
Light leaks are over-rated.
My first tent was a Gorilla. Expensive. But they all get loose and ratty over time. No issues.
My new tent is a Mars Hydro. Cheap. Just as dark inside there as the Gorilla.
A little bit of light like a red on button from your plug strip or dehumidifier doesn't do shit.
Forgot to close the tent one night and found it open in the morning? No biggie.
Zipper not closing all the way? Your plants will continue to flower.
They don't need complete darkness. That's a myth. They grow outside with all kinds of ambient light whether natural or man made.
I guess my point is any tent will do. Save the $ for lights.
