I recently had plants in 5gallon buckets and growth seemed slow so I figured well I guess I'll try transplanting them straight in the ground now I'm seeing more growth than ever after just 2 but they weren't root bound at all any ideas why the delay in growth in the 5gal buckets

Probably poor soil or drainage.

That's what i was thinking the bottom of the buckets where muddy but slimy as well any idea I also do use Fox farm grow big

Plus the grow big doesn't seem to be living up to the name over the period of nine weeks one's stumpy and the other looks anorexic and just now growing growth tips I have less than a month and a have and I don't think I'll see much of a held maybe 3g if that

So was it a good idea to plant them straight in the ground? And the leafs a light green is this a mag deficiency or nitrogen just not sure why there so tiny at 9weeks I've never had this issue befor my plants by now would already have shown sex and at least 2 1/2 ft any suggestions to increase growth

Bad drainage will drown roots and prevent the plant from taking up nutrients. In the future if you are using a bucket, drill plenty of drainage holes in the bottom and use some aggregate in your soil mix like perlite. This will help the soil drain excesses moisture and keep your soil from turning into concrete over time from compaction.

It's going to take them time to acclimate after being nearly drown to death.

Damn so not much of a yeld I will say they have grown like 4 inches in the 2 days I transplanted but I've been searching for a way to speed up growth I've herd that topping speeds growth a little bit but is there any other possibilities?

It's only been 2 days, give them a week to get their feet back under them, don't go hacking them up right now they are already in shock.

Sorry about the continuous replays I'm just short on time August is coming and harvest is September around the 20th so just a little stressed haha
