I think we all know thats not gonna happen any time soon.

And isnt it funny how fast the price of oil dropped when Barack was elected.

yes but tobacco was never illegal so the price wasn't high to begin with. marijuana prices are what they are becuase it's a risk to grow, sell, and have it on you, so therefore the price is higher. if made legal the price would go down since there is no risk factor. it'll be like buying a pack of smokes or something.
i disagree, look in california where its somewhat legal and the prices have skyrocketed.

the government cant take control of it. Its a plant. And the government can't put a patent on something that grows naturally. Thats why you have chemists and pharmacists trying to mimic all the natural healing herbs that are still around today. And thats why medicine is so expensive. Because they spend so much money whipping up some bullshit "medicine" that has infinite side effects on you. Then they sell it to us for who knows how much, and we don't know how much it cost them to make it. Pretty sure millions tho. So I say just decriminalize it and make it legal for medicinal use in all of the states!

I've heard the the government has already got a patent or two on marijuana related materials.

How can they posses it and study it, even find uses for it, shouldn't they go to jail for possessing it? Hypocritical double standards...........

Sorry I missed the "Shit Flinging Contest". But seriousely - I think there is an issue here that could be discussed in a civilised manner!

I actually agree with part of what he said. I just think that alot of his "intensity" (or maybe anger) is misdirected. Yes, it's true that commercial pot growers' incomes go unreported (and untaxed) for the most part. And yes, it's also true that the Federal Government spends BILLIONS of $'s every year on it's "War on Drugs" (Is it just me, or do the drugs seem to be winning?). So far, the only results of the War on Drugs is, the prison system is overflowing and Marijuana is the #1 cash crop (beating both corn and the wine industy - combined, if I'm not mistaken!). Of course all of this "Marijuana cash crop" money is not taxed because it is "under the table". Well just who in the hell do you think makes the rules regarding what is legal and what isn't - the farmer or the government?

So - should we bare a grudge against the farmer, who produces a popular, but illegal, crop -or- the very government that keeps it illegal? The "People" have spoken, repeatedly, in State legislation that favors bringing Marijuana into the mainsteam. And yet it is the Federal government that refuses to tax it and thereby gain some control over it. The way it is now, any 10 year old kid with the money can buy pot easier than cigarettes - that's just WRONG!
It reminds me allot of alcohol prohibition, the government killed, jailed, and intimidated until they got a hold of a good deal of the bootleggers and coors became licensed by them to brew. I picture this whole thing going on for the exact same reason, they have no idea how to intimidate into the ranks so they can properly tax and license, when all they need to do is make it legal, offer a tax stamp and god knows id buy them just to be legal and have no worrys.

I remember when you couldn't buy Coors beer east of the Mississippi river. That is what Smokey and the Bandit is all about, bootlegging Coors beer.

LMAO! great point. if they have it in their possession shouldn't they prosecuted? IF anyone on here gets busted, just tell them you're a Scientist that works for the government and that you're studying the many different uses of marijuana.
That'd be awesome. I should print a fake FBI I.D. right now....

He's not saying to impersonate a federal AGENT, he's saying to impersonate a SCIENTIST. I don't think there are any laws that state you can't impersonate a scientist.

Good plan, can you whip me up one of those scientist ID's too?

What if we start a petition, and get every stoner in North America to sign that shit.

Serve Barack Obama with the stoner petition, and as a bonus, its an economy solution.

Man if we weren't all so lazy from smoking some much chronic we would probably have gotten it legalized by now.

Haha, now that might be true.

Barak won't legalize no matter what, but hopefully he will decriminalize (that is all he has promised and all he will do, but now with all this other shit going on that may not happen until his second term.)

He may remove all federal penalties and leave it to the states completely. Meaning it would end up fully legal in California and then a couple years later Oregon and so on, but could still take 100 years for all the dumb ass bible thumping states to come around.

Well I can tell you one thing, if all the stoners in up here in Canada werent so damn lazy, and would actually get out and vote, we would have some better MPs and Harper wouldnt be in power. I was hoping Layton would win, but now we are stuck with harper.

Haha, and now Layton is trying to team up with Stephan the douchebag separatist Dion to get harper out of power. And all the voters that care still wont get out and vote, the majority is bible thumpers and they religiously vote us down, and vote Christian conservative.

I cant complain tho, we're still pretty much allowed to grow the chronic in BC.:weed:

I just wanted to clear up the whole "eh" thing. We all dont say eh, and we dont say it like that. Its that god Damn Separatist French in Quebec who butcher the English Language, and while they are trying to think of the next word, they always go..."ehhhhhh"

Kind of like "I want to.....ehhhhhh....separate.....ehhhhhhh...and screw over the rest of Canada, ehhhhhhh."

Its the Damn French!!

Just wanted to clear that up

Part of the problem is that we, as the marijuana advocates, don't have to cold hard cash to bribe the lawmakers. The industries that will be hurt by legalization do have the cold hard cash to bribe the lawmakers. It all comes down to money.
