If this is what you were referring to, I like my humidity to sit at 35% the last 2 weeks of flower to keep out bud rot and for extra resin production,. A little stress is good in the end. Since you like to google , you should try using it as well.

This technique is recommended by many growers. A simple search would confirm this. I wouldn't do it if I had bad or marginal results.

BUT if you are cranking the dehumidifier that adds a lot of heat to the space, which I agree is unfriendly for bud quality, so you also need AC. AC will dehumidify on its own, but only down to about 55% in my experience then it seems to struggle a bit to get it lower.

I allow the flowering area between 60-80% during the warm/humid season but I agree if the buds are too big I have to keep an eye out for bud rot.

the vapour barrier you see ontop of the stone underneath the slab is generally used when there is a slab on grade that has in floor radiant heating this is not always the case with buildings that have other types of heating.

The slab is 40 years old. My 2 dehumidifiers should be more than adequate. It wasn't until this rainy year that I've had issues. I was just confused to how much moisture could seep. I was torn between sealing the floor and get a bigger dehumidifier. The latter being much more expensive, My room is sealed, so the only thing I could assume was the extra moisture was coming from the slab.

What's the point of sealing if the seepage is marginal. Hence my original question. Why seal if i have to shell out $3,500 for a bigger dehumidifier in the end? The extent was the whole basis, because I certainly don't see any damp spots. If I had known a simple question would cause such an immature shit show, I wouldn't have asked.. Speaking of 3 year olds...

of course getting a larger dehumidifier is the answer, i am a big fan of sealing the slab with epoxy though should do flat white epoxy be nice for reflecting the light from your lights.

Get a piece of plastic, lay it on the floor so it can't move or get air under it. Leave it for a day or two. Then check to see if it's damp under it....
