I have an intense fear of the hibernate function. Must have completely fucked up windows installs 3 times over the years when using it.
You mean after windows was already installed hibernate did something to screw it up?

I go for a month sometimes just hibernating it when I call it a night and I'm up and running in 30 sec with the forums all ready to go when I hit the power switch in the morning. Saves time not having to log in too.

I'm only running the one OS so just need to shut the computer down when I vacuum out the dust bunnies once a month.

Yeah, it would work fine for long, then one day it will refuse to come out of hibernating. By which time there is some fuckup with the MBR. and the installation turns to trash.
I just decided, never again. Maybe hardware has moved on a few generations... but it is the windows I don't trust

30%. Its restarted one time so far. This is fucking ridiculous. Is this what life is like over here?
Apple seems to be following in Window's footsteps now that Jobs died. The last two updates required a re-installation of the entire OS (they are following their IOS model). Eventually the only sane OS on the planet will be *nix and then I wonder how they'll fuck that one up.

It is good to be retired. I'm to cranky for this shit.

Life? Survival is the name of this game.

Are you allowing Windows to do all it's own updates? I'll be installing Win7 offline then setting updates to manual before jacking in the 'net. Probably take me two long days to go thru all the available updates and deselect the ones I don't want and that will be over half I'm sure. Shouldn't be as many in Win10 as it's a lot newer tho I'm sure there's still lots.

I think Win10 HAS to be online to install if that's the one you're doing.

Spyware par excellance!

It's more like the electric company. They really don't give a shit what you do as long as you pay them.

Computers are interesting and everything involved, google now send all Europe data to their new main office in Ireland, 420 Ireland, the ones that are pretty 420 cool ..... need i say more.

In fact google are pretty 420 cool, if you apply for google ads with a weed site they just message you polity and say no but yes if you get rid of the weed stuff, they never ban you for it and infact i have a weed site all google verified and has it's own google search engine on it, so they are pretty 420 cool ... i feel safer now

picturing Mr google in his garage where it all started with a bong
