Compromise to trim the fan leaves

you're wasting your time, defoliating and lolli-popping is designed to increase PAR to the plant... you dont have a plant... you have a twig.
when your plant is 3-4ft tall, and 5ft+ in circumference... then defoliating and lolli-popping can play a part to get more light deeper into the plant... your plant isnt even 24" tall and it Certainly isnt dense.
Literally you are HURTING your plant doing this and reducing your yields.
oh and btw.. seriously get some magnesium into that plant.

leaves is not a defect, but shade on flowers

as stated above, the only reason to defoliate or lollipop is to get light into the lower bud sites. Obviously your bud sites aren't being blocked by the fan leaves. Oh btw, trimming fan leaves can actually decrease your yield if its not necessary.

Do not remove leaves...if not productful then the plant will shed them on its own...rather put lighting so the lower LEAVES can produce as well...flowers or "budsites" do not need light as the are not energy or food producers for the plant... It makes no sense at all to remove, bind, or tuck leaves so that flowers can receive light... add side lighting below the canopy...if you look at the binding you did to the fan leaf you are losing greater than 50% of its surface area thereby reducing the food it can photosynthesize...this will reduce yield not help it...ideally you want all leaves on health and green and receiving enough light to do there jobs of fueling growth...it is much simpler and productive to just light the lower portions as well

Most all buds ive grown had leaves sticking out. I do a two stage harvest, tops first then the bottoms a week or so later. I am positive that getting more light to them is why they firm up and get those somewhat triangular shapes to them instead of being larf bud. Im not a biologist so i cant be sure why but it seems to me the buds getting direct light grow bigger.
Serious defoliation seems to have a negative affect on yield but strategic defoliation in my exp helps yield. Once again buds have leaves growing out of them

That's exactly the way I do it too. It works very well and the lower budsites get a few extra days to really mature - and my fingers get a break from the scissors.

Same here. I find strategic clipping like that seen in actual bonsai trees works the best. I have a monster going as we speak that is under 150 watt hps. I turned her when she was about 7-8" tall and is now almost 3 feet with TONS of bud sites, all getting adequate and ample light.
