i'm using FILTHY RICH soil the guy at the nursery said its the same thing as BLACK GOLD soil they just put it in that bag instead cause thats their house brand anyway.... i noticed that the filthy rich stuff had COMPOST i read somewhere that compost can burn the roots. my question is, if thats true should i not use that kind of soil or is compost ok for it.

Compost is great if it's truly compost that is FULLY broken down and not just what they scrape up with the backhoe from around the nursery and put into bags as so many places do. I used to buy my bagged items at least a year before i used them so they were sure to be finished

I'm comstantly getting volunteers from the kichen in my compost pile that blow away the garden! plus look a jaan- he's got his hands full ! compost(when done correctly) is THE greatest plant food.
