Complete newbie, PLEASE help me out

I am planning on starting to grow my first plants ever. I know the very extreme basics of it, but I have absolutely no grasp on what types of nutrients and fertilizers I will need. If someone could put together a cost efficient list of the vital parts I will need, and what specifically each different product does and what it is used for, I would be extremely appreciative! Of course any other kind of relevant tidbit for my newbie self is more than welcome and, too, very appreciated.

Again, a sincere thank you to those who take the time to lend me a hand.

Nutrients depend on if you are using soil or hyrdo. They are different. Also it doesn't really matter what line of nutes you go with. Whatever you find fitting. You need a veg nute, flowering nute and good soil if you are using soil. Go with the Fox Farm line since this is your first grow. Makes things easier. Get Fox Farm Ocean Forest or Fox Farm Happy Frog for soil. You wont need to feed your plants any nutes for about 2-3 weeks. Then get the Fox Farm Trio (Tiger Bloom, Big Bloom and Grow Big).

welcome to RIU

the extreme basics would be...buy some decent seeds, soil and a pot and have at it......of course you will need water & sunshine or artificial light

It may be beneficial to read a bit about growing, then ask a few specific questions

I suggest you to check the DIY section of the forum, you should find all the blueprints needed to successfully build a grow. Then, after watching a short tutorial on youtube about "how to germinate" you may ask questions based on your plant. Cheers and good luck!

Welcome! :weed:

If I were to know why I know now, for my first grow I would have bout some MiracleGro moisture control, and some Molasses (grandmother molasses works just fine) and just germinate and plant. Then get like 5 (or more) cfls and place them as close as possible for the whole grow. Flower and enjoy!

just do some research and experiment man, and just build on that. i'm on my second grow and all the information i've retained has been from reading and first hand experience, with some tips and knowledge from some of the guys on here. Keep it simple, over thinking causes over looking which to me is more detrimental then the occasional mistake.

Grab some pro-mix soil and Jacks Classics nutrients. Jacks is a top notch complete fertilizer, extremely cheap ($10 bucks a tub), and will last you easily over 20+ grows.
