Compassion Clubs - who knows more about them than nothing?

I know NOTHING about them.

I'm new, came into the "system" under the MMPR, and I have no experience in the old ways.

But are they legal? Is there a threat of the government trying to shut them down?

I really hope not - because they SEEM like a good option if there is one in your neighbourhood.

Anywho - I found this link, and I thought I would ask if anyone knows more about them than me - because I don't know anything about them.

http://cannabislink.ca/links.html

Looks like there are quite a few in major cities.

I wonder if they take drop in's from people in the MMPR?

It would be cool when I go to southern ontario if I could just go to a CC and get my meds there.

Thoughts?

Although I've only used the local compassion club a few times and I am in no way an expert, but here is what I know (or think I know...). Compassion clubs are not legal but operate in a grey area. In most cases law enforcement ignores them, but they are subject to raids and enforcement on the whim of the RCMP or HC. Many compassion clubs will also mail product if you are not local. When I joined the CC, before I was an mmar patient, all I required to produce was medical documents showing I have a condition that will benefit from mmj. I don't know anything about http://cannabislink.ca/links.html, but I would check it out. Cheers!

they're legal, if they have a MMAR license with in the law as it stands.
Other than that.
Nope!

Just like the states. They are allowed to stay as "work" for the RCMP just like we have road crews. Same deal. Clean them up. Tell Bob that we're coming next month and that we'll be back next year...some time. After you're all set up again and have (cash) business flowing.

Ya.. Big business! Awesome

If you're talking to me - the emails have been sent!

I just like asking questions is alls.

I like to hear from the voice of the experienced, rather than reading what someone's website says.

Just me!

your probably better off calling them as emails sometimes never get answered or go to junk folders, just saying
cause that was my experience with a certain CC

I am going to be in London and Toronto.

The London one, on their website - is talking about ATP cards and the MMAR.

That doesn't sound promising. But I will call! Thanks!

The one in London said 2-3 weeks to be approved. Will have to see, I will probably have better luck in Toronto.

I can give you the answer i got from a club when i asked. The reason clubs arent being busted is because some up hold to a fair registration system. They dont supply people that are not in need and keep intensive files on hand. Nobody is served meds unless they have a documented need for it. The overall answer/justification was that if they get busted and there only found to be serving patients with actual needs the courts may over rule the charges and allow clubs to openly operate this is why your not seeing clubs being busted for "distribution" Your seeing clubs go down due to other drugs and accusations of serving minors.

Awesome.

Well my "need" is that I would like to try them, if given the opportunity, instead of ordering from my LP while I am down south.

I could totally just bring my own medicine with me.

But, this would be cool to try.

I don't think I'll be paying like $100.00 membership fee though. If that's the case, I will just have to stick to the online.

The clubs I have spoken to will allow access with paperwork for MMAR, MMPR, or possibly with confirmation of diagnosis. I would try to find one that will allow you to begin application over phone / email, possibly making an appointment to confirm documents.

Some offer mail order, I would suppose those ones at least have a method of applying for membership remotely.

Dispensaries and compassion clubs operate in a legal grey area, mostly based around the Parker court decision and the doctrine of informed consent. They are technically "illegal" but very few are ever charged criminally, even after a bust, since they are filling a need to patients.

Also worth nothing that as an mmpr patient you are not legal to carry cannabis. You are able to order legal cannabis in its container.

Better make sure you bring at least one of those Tilray bags. Maybe you can fill it back up on your way out of town.
