You already know. Haha. These things take forever. Hence why they're so rare. People pick them and police destroy them, and they take so damned long.
Many years ago I had a fairly large rare cacti collection, some I had started back in high school. I got really avid after I was discharged and built it up, I had 3 Lophophora. Any way after grad school I got a gig in Minnesota so left the collection in the care of a friend. Long-short, worst rainstorm in 20 yrs, high-peaked roof and the collection got flooded and died.

That is a fucking tragedy. Like, really, that hurts me to my core. Between Ayahuasca and mescaline-bearing cacti, they've been a real medicine for me. Like, weed helps, but psychedelics help me keep my shit straight for several months at a time. Particularly with how slow these little guys grow, it's a real shame to hear.

Nice! We grew them in quart masons. I like your way better
I tend to buy pre-sterilized single-use spawn bags with filtered gas exchange vent and self-healing injection ports. It's only 5-6 bucks each for two 1 lbs. spawn bags and one 5 lbs. mushroom compost bag. It takes out the tedious part of having to pressure cook jars of BRF and crossing your fingers you pasteurized and sterilized correctly.
