It's about time the general public got some protection from the unregulated media.

The bill would create requirements for people wanting to work as a journalist for a media outlet, and also before that outlet could hire anyone for a reporting position.

Regardless of my ignorance, isn't it about time the generally ignorant public got some protection from the rapacious media? Everybody is a journalist in the age of twitter. Nobody needs 140 characters, and the ability to blast an entire planet of ignorant victims.

This WaPo journalist thinks it's a bad idea. Isn't it about time time we broke the grip the powerful, National Journalists Association has on the political process?

Should 1A be repealed? It allows people to say mean things and frightens young college students into demanding safe places. Saying mean things, or reasonable things that people don't like to hear should be tightly controlled.

What do you think, Sky? Should 1A be repealed? A lot of college students were asked that very question, and many of them agreed that 1A needs to go.

The first amendment protects the press as it should. And anyone can be part of the press as blogs aptly demonstrate. I dont want to have to register with the government to post my opinion.
