Colorado's Own Strains

thank you. banner is kinda difficult to grow but is well worth it.
When I got my Bbr#3 it was almost dead. I rescued it from a friend. Took forever to grow out and then clone, veg, and finally bloom. I am close to harvest and it looks like it was worth it. NOT an easy one. Very bulky flowers for its size. Frosty and sticky like glue.

Do you know anything about this strain, it's lineage, or it's origin? I have a cut labeled Kong but don't know what it is or if it's the same one you're talking about.
Here is Kong variety known as Grand Daddy Kong I received a few yrs ago. It is the biggest oil yielding strain I've ever worked with and as far as I know it isn't making the rounds. It is extremely potent and known to throw many a 3 leaf. Some pics from outdoor...IMG_0066.jpg IMG_0087.JPG IMG_0092.JPG IMG_0095.jpg IMG_0099.JPG IMG_0108.JPG IMG_0110.JPG IMG_0113.jpg

@DonTesla I wouldn't bother. Find Durban Poison, bigger strong faster and just about the same aroma/flavor as the goat.
Someone correst me if im wrong.

Peace
Golden Goat is awesome. The flowers are pink and it has a distinct smell. I helped a friend grow it and it came out great. It put me to sleep a lot but my friend said it didn't make him sleepy at all. That's how it goes, y'know.

hahahaha, this gravy does the same, its the only strain thats ever made me drop a joint 4 times in a month, from passing out mid way, lmao.

any more thoughts on Durban Poison vs Golden Goat, anyone?? So far they each have two strong +'s each.
Yeild and speed, vs pink and pass out power.

DP shouldn't even be brought into the same sentence with golden goat , that's how much better golden goat is. Yield is amazing , high is amazing , taste is like lemons and lime zest and haze if grown properly. Golden goat is one of the best sativa strains out right now it will make your heart and head race super euphoric high just an amazing strain. You need to get a clone of the real deal and trust me its fire. Here's a pic of the real deal under a blackstar ion 8 + reptile light.

Gonna have to respectfully disagree. There was nothing I found noteable. Granted it is good herb imo. Just not great. We have so many seeds that would mop the floor with the goat. We all have our differences in what we like.
Get yourself some Durban and goat and try for yourself. And btw the DP will crush the goat in yeild and strength. The test number i have seen help confirm this. I will say the whole haze thing is not overly appealing to me personally. To each their own

Peace all

Personally I feel the Dp, the goat, not to mention snowcap, jilly bean, tang-whatever, somas nycdiesel all share similar sativa dom medicine characteristics and terpine profiles.

I have tried each of these in flower, dialed in, also in extract form chock full o terp.

The Durban the goat and nycd were by far the most potent in sativa realm but the extract of each let the finest qualities of each strain shine through.

I will say durban is much easier to get dialed in, the flavor and medicinal effect are there even in the most neglected of grows. The Ggoat and NYCD IME require longer flowering periods in order to properly finish. Therefor many examples of said strains are simply inadequate representations.

My golden goat is finished in 63 days , I have smoked dp many times and I enjoy it but it's not on the level with golden goat in my opinion especially taste wise. My favorite strain is chemdawg 4 , altitude organic medicine in Colorado springs has an amazing cut of the chemdawg 4 super pine and og as fuck a truly amazing strain. Potency wise I find it hard to believe dp would crush golden goat at all THC wise golden goat is around 30% THCA + delta 9 with it being as high as 33% and I have seen it around 25% on the low end. Grown properly under LEDs with reptile bulbs to help implement UV-B light you can easily push 33% THC with golden goat, it is a strain that loves producing trics and they are very potent with very large heads.

@Yodaweed again man i am going to respectfully disagree. 33% is a lie someone told you. Those #s are unobtainable. And the addition of UV-A/B is not going to do much. The research is iffy at best and truly, after using the uvb reptile lights as an addition they do NOTHING. No visibly noticable increase in trichome production not better flavor nor any more potent. One would not know the difference if side by side.
personal preference on the DP over the goat is all it is imo. Goat is a very pretty variety though, no doubt.

I would have to respectfully disagree with the UV-B not working, in my garden I have 18% UV-B lights and use them in the last 2 hours of daylight and I have seen a noticeable difference in frostiness. I'm going to have to grow the DP for sure since you make it sound so good, I need to find me a good cut/seeds you know any? The healing canna in Colorado springs is where I got my numbers from they had some charts and their golden goat thc% was one of the highest, I looked today at very old charts from AOM and their golden goat is 21% THC but they don't test for delta9 so can't confirm total THC content. They said they will update their lab tests sometime soon hopefully but I wont hold my breath, too bad I can't test my own garden :(

You can, but not very accurately for high THC strains. A friend works at a dispensary that sells test kits. There is a kit for THC and a kit for CBD. The THC kit makes 3 tests and must be used all at once. You can test the same sample 3 times or 3 different samples but it has to be used within 24-hours of mixing. The CBD kit has 3 individual tests, no hurry.

The results are compared to a color card. The THC card has a maximum value of 20% so you would have to brag about how dark red your color red was because everything over 20% is red.

I forget the scale on the CBD test but it was reasonable.
Both are worth it for less than $15.00 each.

Yeah those kits are useless I need a real lab to do this so I know actual numbers not how dark red a circle is compared to a chart.

Sounds like there's a good debate going on.. the specific cut of the goat and Poison seems paramount..
if anyone gots pics you guaranteed to get a like from me, lol.

appreciate the Collie breakdowns

I'm not aware of any other way for home growers to test. THAT'S that problem. Doesn't make sense why a home grower can't use a lab. Anyway.... :wall:

For the price the kits give you a general idea of where you're at.
