Colorado Wild Cannabis or Feral Hemp: The Hunt for a rare Landrace

Hi everyone!

In traveling through the Midwest, I'm sure some of you have heard you can find feral cannabis growing wild in the edges of fields, streams, and natural areas. In the past I've seen it in Nebraska, Iowa, and Wisconsin, and I've even heard about it in Kansas, Missouri, and parts of Michigan with Indiana having the largest concentrations. Apparently it is a mix of hemp seed that spread during the WWII growing effort for rope, old-timey medical varieties from pre-1920s, and hippie herb patches. Bottom-line, it has been growing feral and wild for about 70 years, adapting to the environment, and spreading on its own with wild and random phenotypes,

Imagine my surprise when I found that this stuff has a small presence in Colorado through this youtube video. In all of my travels in and around the State (even specifically hunting for it) I haven't been able to locate it. Does anybody know where to find this stuff?

ANNNNYWAY, long preface and burying-the-lead aside, I know people will say "dude why are you looking for this stuff in Colorado, it is bad smoke anyway". Clearly, the herb shops in CO are some of the best in the country, so it is more of an academic interest. I'm just fascinated and would love to see it, but don't know where to look. I've heard people say "go east and you will find it"... so far it hasn't been found in Sterling or Holyoke. May take a drive out to Limon soon and see what can be found. Does anybody know where to find wild hemp in CO? Obviously not interested in modern farming.... that's not too hard to locate anymore. I am just curious to see the wild ditchweed in Colorado.
